2005 Lamborghini Murcielago

Lamborghini is known all around the world for its amazing sports cars. The Lamborghini Murcielago is one of these cars that reflect very well the principles of the Lamborghini designs. This Lamborghini is a two seats two doors sports car manufactured by the Italian automaker for many years now.

The 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster was revealed in 2004 as a 2005 model and it is a geometric work of art with straight lines that combines the Italian flair with the German simplicity.  The Roadster has the same angular wedge as the other Lamborghini cars, but completed by the incredible scissor doors. The design of this amazing car includes a pronounced spiral inside, some exhaust pipes placed centrally and air scoops that have the role of going up at low speeds to cool down the overheating V12 engine.

To impress more the audience, the designer of the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster placed a rear wing that pops out of the car’s body at 80 mph having the role to stick the rear end to the floor. When it comes to the materials used to manufacture this incredible fast car, the key words are carbon fiber, except for the doors which are made of steel. By using carbon fiber, Lamborghini succeeded to maintain the weight of this Roadster at 3,659 pounds.

The interior of the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster is covered in black leather giving a strong personality to this fierce “bull”. The Roadster incorporates black side sills behind the door windows, streamlined headrests and a lowered windshield. Other impressive interior features include the huge six speed metal shift gate and the vents placed on display. These features reflect very well the Italian-German mixture.

Under the surface, the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster “rests” on a tubular steel chassis with some reinforcements made of carbon fiber that include even the cage which hosts the engine. That shows how evolved the engineering department of Lamborghini is. Removing the roof of the incredible Murcielago coupe might have some unpleasant consequences on taking curves, but the Lamborghini team strived to minimize those effects. I must say that the convertible’s top is quite a problem, because is made of metal tubes and cloth and must be put in position manually. That’s why at a speed of more than 100 mph you risk loosing the top.

Under the hood, the Roadster hides a 6.2 liters V12 engine supplied by Audi that produces around 571 horsepower that helps the Murcielago go from zero to 60 mph in only 3.6 seconds. And I must mention the 200 mph top speed that gives you the feeling you are alive and flying. And to face this amazing, powerful engine, the supercar has incredible Pirelli P-Zero Rossos tires that prevent the car from taking off the road. As an additional help, the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster is equipped with a distribution system that allocates a 42/58 weight ratio for the front and the rear. This Murcielago is equipped with a six speed manual transmission or a six speed auto-clutch manual transmission.

When it comes to safety measures the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster is equipped with an all wheels drive system and four wheel antilock brakes. Along with these safety measures, the Murcielago comes with side airbags for the driver and passenger, safety belts and door beams.

As any other sports car, the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster offers comfort, luxury and high speed for its buyers. This supercar deserved the 2005 “spicy” price that ranged between $319,000 and $330,000. Nowadays, you can lease a 2005 Murcielago for only $3000 a day.
