The new Skoda Fabia Sport announced in the UK

After today we wrote about the Brabus SLR Roadster or the Abt Audi AS5, we present you another supercar package, the Skoda Fabia Sport. Just kidding, of course. Today, Skoda announced the UK launch of the Skoda Fabia Sport, a new addition to the Czech carmaker’s small car range, which got a new front spoiler, chrome exhaust pipe, rear diffuse and 16-inch alloy wheels.

I was never very fond of the latest Fabia generation, however, it’s pricing is very reasonable. The 70 hp 1.2 liter 12v version starts at £10,660, while the 105 hp 1.6 liter 16v version has a starting price tag of £11,735. The two diesel versions available start at £12,115 for the 80 hp 1.4 TDI and £12,795 for the 105 hp 1.9TDI version. The first UK customers will get their cars at the end of January.

Ford Mustang to be K.I.T.T. in the next Knight Rider

After a lot of speculation, Jalopnik dropped the bomb today and announced what will be the mystery car to play K.I.T.T. in the next Knight Rider movie and that is the Shelby GT500 King of the Road, based on the Ford Mustang. Frankly, I’m not that thrilled about the Mustang, because I don’t know if its ‘fierce’ looks is right for K.I.T.T. I mean, I can’t imagine a Mustang saying “Hello, Michael!” as good as the original Pontiac Firebird did. And here are also a few Photoshopped pics of a GT500 KR to get a better idea how the K.I.T.T. will look like. What do you think about it? Is it a good choice? Feel free to leave a comment here.

Video: Giant Toyota driving simulator

I got to admit, this is one of the most impressive machines I’ve ever seen. This life-size driving simulator was built by Toyota, in order to be albe to develop better safety technologies, by being able to analyze the driver’s behavior under different conditions. The simulator consists of a real car surrounded by a 360 degree screen which can simulate very realistic driving conditions. Thumbs up for Toyota! Enjoy the video and maybe let us know what do you think, by dropping a comment, here.

Abt AS4 tuning program for the new Audi A4

My guess would be that the new Audi A4 will become a really important player in the premium mid-size sedan class, even though the competition from the new Mercedes C-Class and the BMW 3-Series is pretty tough. So Abt got to work and created this, the AS4 tuning program for the A4. And they sure did a pretty good job, ’cause it looks great. Exterior mods include new front skirts, new side wings, new rear spoiler and new rear skirt with quad exhausts integrated.

And that’s not all, because Abt also worked on the performances and offers two performance kits, the Abt Power and the Abt Power S. First, there’s the 1.8-litre turbocharged TFSI engine, which develops 160 hp in the production version, but power output is increased to 200 hp and 310 Nm of torque with the Abt Power S kit and 240 hp with the Abt Power S kit. Then, there’s the 143 hp 2.0 TDI unit, which develops 170 hp (Abt Power) and 200 hp (Abt Power S). The 2.7 TDI develops 190 hp (Abt Power) and 230 hp (Abt Power S), while the 3.0 TDI now produces 300 hp with the Abt Power S performance kit.

Jaguar XF magazine for the iPhone

Apple had a huge success lately with its products, especially the iPhone (I think I just got over my iPhone allergy, because there was a time when everyone just looked like it lost its mind with the iPhone), so, in an interesting marketing move, Jaguar decided to take advantage of Apple’s recent boom and lanched jxfphone.com, which is a magazine created exclusive for Apple’s touchscreen devices (that includes the iPhone or the iPod Touch).

The website, which can also be viewed by MAC and PC users, offer a ton of images, videos and a lot of marketing info regarding the Jaguar XF. As I said, I like Jaguar’s marketing approach, especially that Apple’s touchscreen devices offer quite an attractive experience, and Jaguar might really succeed with this magazine.

Mercedez Benz SLR Roadster by Brabus

The Mercedes Benz SLR Roadster is one cool supercar and everybody agreed on that. Apparently, the guys at Brabus didn’t think so and thought that it’s place for better, so they came up with this, the Brabus SLR Roadster, which is definitely a hot tuning program for the Merc. The car is powered by the same 5.5 liter supercharged V8 engine, but, with special camshafts, fuel cooling system and high-performance exhaust, Brabus engineers managed to squeeze another 24 hp, so it now develops 650 hp, sprints from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and reaches 209 mph (337 km/h) top speed.

And, of course, the Brabus SLR Roadster also got a new bodykit, with a new exposed carbon fiber front spoiler, Brabus rear diffuser and fully polished Brabus Monoblock VI 20 inch wheels, fitted with Pirelli and Yokohama tires. As you’d expect, the even more exclusive roadster got some exquisite interior features, like custom upholstery designs and a multitude of leather types and colors, waffle-patterned leather carpeting and Brabus carbon-fiber applications for dashboard, center console and door trim.

The car is currently on display at the Essen Motor Show, in Germany and you can see more photos of the super roadster after the jump.

Chevrolet Corvette Limo

What’s up with these people? I mean, what’s the point in stretching your perfectly good sports car and make it a limo? Besides the fact that it’s low and probably very uncomfortable, you can’t even say you enjoy it’s high speed. And here’s what we’re talking about, the Chevrolet Corvette Limousine. Available for sale on eBay, with a current bid of $80,000, the Corvette C5 Limo is 220 inch long and features an electric fireplace, the four flat screen TVs and the disco floor among other things. We wonder how a drag race would look between this and the Ferrari 360 Modena Limo?

AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Gas Powered does 197 MPH

Back in September, we’ve showed you the AC Schnitzer GP3.10, which was a gas powered concept from AC Schnitzer, based on the new BMW 3 Series Coupe. When they presented it, the AC Schnitzer dudes claimed this was the fastest gas powered car in the world and now they’ve managed to prove that too, because they took the GP3.10 to the Nardo track in Italy, where the car was clocked at an impressive 197 mph (318.1 km/h).

And in case you’re too lazy to follow the link to our previous article, we remind you that the GP3.10 concept is powered by a heavy modified version of BMW M5′s 552 hp engine, which was adapted for the LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) fuel. The car goes from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 13.6 seconds. AC Schnitzer valued this concept which they’ll never go into series production at about 196,000 Euro, however they say that some of the components might be used in the future. Enjoy the video!

Chevrolet Captiva Sport Edition

Chevrolet announced today the Captiva Sport Edition, which is a more sporty version of the successful SUV. The package features dark headlights and rearlights, trunk lid in body color, new exhaust tips and 18 inch wheels. The interior also got some new stuff, like the red and black leather upholstery with red stitching and black carbon trims for the cockpit. The Chevrolet Captiva Sport will be available with two engine choices, a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel and a 169 hp V8 petrol engine.

Not being an extraordinary car, still the Chevrolet Captiva is a good buy, that offers decent performances for a good price and, with 46,000 units sold so far in Europe, it’s quite a success and we expect the Sport version’s sales to go well.
