A couple of days ago, Mercedes-Benz revealed their C63 AMG Safety Car for the upcoming 2011 DTM racing season. The car is based on the facelift version of the C-Class AMG and packs an adjustable coil-over suspension, along with a roof-mounted LED light bar and a high-performance braking system. The C63 AMG Safety Car also has been fitted with racing seats, a leather & Alcantara steering wheel that has paddle shifters, as well as an advanced communications system.

Under that bonnet is a naturally aspirated V8 6.3-liter engine that features AMG’s Performance Package, and is capable to output 480 hp (487 PS / 358 kW) and 443 lb.-ft (600 Nm) of torque. It can do the 0-60 mph sprint in 4.3 seconds so it should be fast enough to handle the racing action.
