2011 MINI Cooper S Inspired by Goodwood Revealed

It was only a few days ago when Mini revealed a teaser with the Cooper S “Inspired by Goodwood” model and now we have the full scoop on this very expensive special edition. BMW-owned Mini and Rolls Royce have teamed up for the development of this luxury edition of the Cooper S and I’d have to say that they’ve done a pretty good job.

They’re going to make only 1,000 units, and each one will have an incredible price of $68,000, making it the most expensive small premium car in the world. So, what do you get for this kind of money?

Well, let’s start with the outside where we find the exclusive Diamond Black Metallic paint finish. Also available is a Reef Blue Metallic paintjob. This model is offered with the same front and rear apron as the original Cooper S, but it has been combined with the hood of the Cooper D without the air scoop. RR added a couple of badges right below the A-pillar that have been inscribed with the words “Inspired by Goodwood”.

Inside, we find RR’s exclusive Cornsilk color that was used for dressing up the dashboard, roof lining, center console, air vents, central instrument, lounge leather seats, side & body pillars and the carpets surfaces. In addition, they’ve also fitted the cabin with Walnut Burr veneer trims.

For the top of the dashboard they’ve used black nappa leather, while for the door linings they’ve fitted Cornsilk leather. All of the buttons have been finished in an elegant Piano Black surface, the floor mats in lambswool, while the roof lining has a Cashmere finish.

Under that tiny hood we find a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged power unit that cranks out 184 hp and 177 lb.-ft of torque, allowing the car to reach 60 mph in 7 seconds and averaging a fuel consumption of 40.6 mpg.

So, if you want the luxury of a Rolls Royce, but can’t live without the trendiness of the Mini, this is the only solution for you.
