The Japanese automaker Toyota released the complete details and images of their 2011 Matrix facelift model. The car got new front and rear bumpers, a mesh front fog lamp bezel as well as updated front and rear spoilers. In addition, it features a new design for the rims and an updated interior styling.

As standard, the car is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels that have a sporty 6-spoke full wheel cover, wrapped around P205/55R16 tires. For the Matrix S model, the car gets 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels with 215/45R17 tires.

The car will be available with a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter DOHC engine that produces 132 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 128 lb.-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. This engine benefits from the VVT-I system and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed ECT – Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission.

The other engine that is available for the Matrix is a more powerful 4-cylinder 2.4-liter that outputs 158 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 162 lb.-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm. With this engine, the 2011 Matrix is available with an AWD system and an ECT 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota also offers a Premium Package that includes power tilt/slide moonroof with sliding sunshade, USB port with iPod support, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA support, Bluetooth and CD text display function.

Toyota didn’t reveal the price list for the 2011 Matrix. We’ll let you know once they do.

    Hey,

    I am not convinced with the above power and torque ratings. I feel its low comparatively. Even the fuel rating is not up to the expectations.
