2012 Audi S7 Sportback Goes Official

2012 Audi S7 Sportback

The sleek 2012 Audi S7 Sportback will be motivated by the same engine as its little brother, the S6. This power unit is a V8 twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI that can unleash 414 hp (420 PS / 309 kW) and an impressive peak torque of 405 lb.-ft (550 Nm). This engine comes with the cylinder deactivation technology, along with energy recuperation and the stop/start system as in the S6 so it should drink less fuel, but we don’t have any official figures at the moment.

The engine is mated to a seven-speed S-tronic gearbox and the power will be sent to all four wheels through the quattro all-wheel-drive configuration, which will allow the car to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 62 mph. The S7 Sportback rides on an air suspension and 19-inch rims so it should offer a pretty smooth ride.

Inside the cabin it comes with “S” badging as well as a red ring around the start/stop button while on the illuminated door sills is the “S7” logo so that you don’t forget the model of the car you’ve bought. Jokes aside, stainless steel was used for the pedals and the footrest while carbon, aluminum and fine-grain woods were used as decorative trimming.
