2012 Cadillac SRX Gets V6 308 HP Engine

2012 Cadillac SRX

Cadillac has decided that for the new model year of the SRX they should bring some updates in order to keep the crossover fresh. The most important modification would have to be the new V6 3.6-liter “LFX” engine that is going to be the only power unit available for the car. This new power plant is capable of producing 16% more hp than the outgoing V6 unit. In other words, it churns 308 hp (as opposed to only 265 hp) and has a peak torque of 265 lb.-ft (223 lb.-ft for the outgoing model).

This new LFX engine is also E85 ethanol-compatible and it will be mated to a 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Clients will be able to get the SRX with either a FWD configuration or an AWD variant. With the latter system, the crossover benefits from an electronic limited slip rear differential.
