2012 Lamborghini
The long wait is over everybody. Geneva Motor Show has been shocked and electrified and shocked again with the new release fresh of the Lamborghini’s high tech performance labs: the Aventador LP 700. The Bull God will have the highest possible power to weight ratio. Let’s take this mechanical marvel from the exterior.
On the exterior you can see that it’s following the Reventon and Sesto Elemento designs. It also takes inspiration from high tech aeronautics and the fastest and most powerful aircraft. This hypercar is 4.78 meters long and only 1.136 meters high. These proportions have been calculated to reduce air friction as much as possible. Aerodynamic elements like the front spoiler and rear diffuser are electronically controlled from the on board computer.

It has a tilt of 11 degrees which delivers unparalleled downforce at high speeds delivering a massive improvement in stability and handling. 2 air intakes in the same shape as a fighter plane are designed for an improved air flow to the engine that help keeping the engine cool even at top speed. The “trademark” of the Lamborghini is the door opening system that enables the door to open upward toward the sky is kept from the Countach model and to this very day.
Thie interior is just about as freakish as the exterior. If you were lucky enough to get to sit in a Reventon then you know about the interior of the car looks more like a cockpit than a dashboard. The instrumentation is displayed on a big LCD while another completely different LCD controls audio system, navigation, car features like traction control or stability control. When you climb in such a car you feel like connected to the Matrix with the whole interface to come with it. The easy on the eyes leather that covers the entire interior of the car creates an amplified sensation of comfort once again unmatched by any releases of today.
The amount of equipment that will come with the Lamborghini Aventador will be mind-boggling: ABS, electric brake distribution, a controller for slipping, high tech steering which is speed dependent, seep position start and assist and of course stability control. The side intakes and the rear spoiler will be controlled from the LCD features control. Lamborghini will offer even profiles that automatically set the performance of the car for the types of terrain you will be driving on: Road, Sport, and Track.

Now we’re getting serious. Talking performance, the manufacturer made it very clear that no engine besides V12 will power this hypercar, and the engine itself is modified and optimized for extreme performance. The increase in capacity and horse power has lead the engine to its final form: a 6.5 liter V12 engine producing a blistering 700 hp. I have no words to describe it. The acceleration may be lesser that the Sesto Elemento: “only” 2.9 sec on 0-60 mph but with a top speed of 217 mph (350 Km) the Aventador will be a force to be reckoned with. Another incredible feat of this car is the power distribution which is just about perfect, and a power to weight ratio of an amazing 2.25kg/hp.
The transmission is controlled by a state of the art ISR gearbox which enables the Aventador to shift between gears almost instantly. It’s built to support 2 modes and an approximately 50 millisecond time to shift. Constructed in such a way that when one shifting rod is exiting one gear, the second one is triggered and starts shifting to the next.
Look at it… simply unparalleled.
