The Japanese automaker Nissan has revealed yesterday the price list for its new 2012MY Versa and they say that it has “the lowest MSRP in America” $10,990, without taking into consideration the destination fee.

As you might remember, back in April Nissan took the new Versa to the New York Auto Show and we found out that this model is based on the Micra’s platform and all four variants are powered by the same 1.6-liter gasoline engine that produces 109 hp @ 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 107 lb.-ft available at 4,400 rpm.

The 1.6 S entry-level model comes with a 5-speed manual transmission that allows the car to return 27 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg in the combined cycle. For $12,760 you can get the 1.6 S fitted with the Xtronic CVT gearbox which manages to offer 30 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway and 33 mpg combined.

The better-equipped 1.6 SV CVT costs from $14,560 while the top-spec 1.6 SL CVT has a base price of $15,560.
