2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 costs from $54,200
The Blue Oval company has announced at the end of last week that the 2013 Mustang Shelby G500 coupe is going to have a starting price of $54,200, while its convertible sibling costs from $59,200, without taking into consideration the $795 destination fee which raises the price tags of the cars to $54,995 and $59,995, respectively.
Both versions of the car are going to be $5,390 more expensive than the 2012MY, while the coupe has the exact same price as the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Coupe. For $3,495 customers will be able to opt for the SVT Performance Package that brings 19-inch front / 20-inch rear forged alloys, a Torsen differential, uprated rear springs, Bilstein adjustable dumpers, a new gear shift knob and a bespoke instrument cluster.
The Mustang Shelby G500 is motivated by an impressive V8 5.8-liter supercharged engine that delivers 650 hp and a maximum torque of 600 lb.-ft (814 Nm). All that power is sent to the wheels in the back with the help of the 6-speed manual gearbox.
The coupe variant is capable of hitting a maximum speed of more than 200 mph (320 km/h), while its convertible sibling features a speed limiter which won’t let the odometer pass the 155 mph (250 km/h) mark.
The coupe is going to be available starting with this May, while its convertible cousin is scheduled to hit the dealerships later on this summer.
