2013 Volkswagen CC revealed

2013 Volkswagen Passat CC

The original Volkswagen Passat CC came out about four years ago and in that time the German automaker has managed to sell more than 270,000 units. To avoid a midlife crisis, VW has decided that the sleek four-door coupe needs a facelift and this is what they’ve come up with.

The car is scheduled to make its official debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show which will be organized later on this month. The front of the Passat CC has been redesigned with a new flashy chrome-trimmed grille, along with revised headlamps that now have a ring of LEDs, and they also worked on the bumper. Looking at the back we notice the LED taillights, a revised bumper and a reshaped boot lid. The exterior updates end with a bunch of new colors and new designs for the rims.

For the U.S. market, the four-door coupe will be powered by the same engines as the outgoing model, including here the 2.0-liter TSI power unit that develops 200 hp and the beefier 3.6-liter FSI that outputs 280 hp. The situation will remain the same also for the European model as the car will get the same gasoline and diesel engines, with outputs that will range from 140 hp to 300 hp. The most frugal version of the Passat CC is motivated by a 2.0 TDI that develops 140 hp and manages to return 50 mpg (4.7 liters / 100 km).
