Abarth to bring upgraded Fiat 500 Convertible and Punto Evo to Geneva

The Geneva Motor Show will be a host to quite a lot of powerful models, among which you can count two more pocket rockets, coming from Fiat’s performance division, Abarth.

After modifying the extremely popular Fiat 500, and getting even more fans for the small Italian coupe, according to some reports Abarth is preparing to unveiled an upgraded take on the 500C edition, which boasts a convertible canvas top. No official details were given, but you can expect to see a much more aggressive model, with the turbocharged 1.4-liter that is included in the regular Abarth 500 (pictured above).

There are also some good news for Fiat Punto Evo fans, as the slightly larger hatchback will also see an Abarth performance edition, which might bring the new 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged unit, good for around 170 HP, under its hood, as well as a few more enhancements.

Overall, if you have a fancy for small Italian performance models, you’ll need to get to Geneva at the beginning of March. No word yet if the Abarth 500 Convertible will also reach US shores alongside its coupe variant, but if it will be successful, it’s a big possibility.

“Pocket rocket”? LOL, good way of describing them. That’s all I’ll be able to think of whenever I’m behind the wheel now. Much as I’d like to drool over all the new cars that are going to be available, I’m not going to be able to get to Geneva. I’ll just have to sulk instead.
