Another unlucky Audi R8, in Portugal

Crashed Audi R8 in Portugal

Don’t know why, but it seems the Audi R8 is one unlucky car. We wrote about R8s crashed in Germany, in Russia and in the UK (not really a crash, but soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo lost control of his car and was very close to an accident). This time a Portuguese guy lost control of his Audi R8 in Oporto, Portugal, right in front of the city’s hospital. There were no injuries, but the car was pretty damaged, after climbing the sidewalk and also hitting two Mercedes that were on display.

Thanks for the tip, Ricardo!

Check out more photos after the jump.

Geez. Seeing pictures of nice cars like this all smashed up really makes me sad. This one was especially tough for me since I have a soft spot for the R8. The picture of that back wheel got me a little choked up, and a little tight in the chest.

    Poor thing.

That back wheel image is kinda creepy and I totally understand how you feel, Luke.

Unlucky? Is there something going on with the R8; I seem to remember something about Audi recalling early TTs for a chassis tweak to make them safer.
A few more crashed R8s might push Audi into doing something similar with the R8…

  4. Vlad says:

I don’t think there’s something wrong with the R8, but probably the crashes are more present in the media and we have the feeling that all the R8s are crashed :) But, who knows, you might be right Gideon, guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

he might not be that good a handerling a car at high speeds but he is good at running at defenders at high speeds

  6. Anonimous says:

Side note: It is a company car. There is a logo on the back referring to a private clinic.
