Antique Classic Car Shows

An antique classic car show reminds you of the old days and it brings out the power, the performance and the elegance of these cars of the past. You actually feel like travelling back in time. For a few minutes you can close your eyes and you become a traveler in time and space by feeling the smell of the streets and by seeing all those cars going up and down on their daily route.

Even if you can’t stay forever in that period of time you can go back at any moment just by being part of an antique classic car show. These events are organized each year for car lovers. Trust me! Every year the experience will get more and more exciting, turning you into an addict.

One of these shows takes place in Rockville and it’s named “The Rockville Antique Car Show”. Its first edition was held back in 1962. The show is a fall festival and it brings together more than 400 antique classic cars. More than twenty-two car clubs such as Packard or Ferrari choose to be part of the event and bring the most fascinating classic cars. An amazing antique car that you could admire at the 2010 edition was the 1956 Packard Super Clipper. It’s an incredible car with shiny upholstery and it’s also in a great shape. Another classic car that is still on the road is a 1955 SF Ferrari Mondial Series II 500, which has an amazing blue color.

The Woodward Dream Cruiser from Detroit is another popular antique classic car show. This particular event blends charity with a car show. Nowadays, the event is one of the biggest automotive shows in the world and it brings together more than 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic cars from Australia, Japan or New Zealand. The real stars of the show are, of course, the cars and here you can admire all the models you can think of. Muscle cars, hot rods, convertibles or hard tops, they all make the show surreal. The amazing classic cars from the 1960s, such as a Shelby Daytona Coupe, a GT40 “continuation” and the Mark III roadster form a fantastic trio that was part of the 2010 edition. Furthermore, in 2010, you could also admire cars built by Ford – the Boss 302 Laguna Seca or Chrysler- a 1968 Dodge Coronet Convertible and a Mustang GT.

At 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance the antique classic car collectors met once again. This event is a festival of antique classic cars that takes place every year in Monterey and it’s a combination between a car show, a charity event and a competition. You can admire both prewar and postwar cars that can win a prize according to one of the following criteria: history, authenticity, style or functionality. The list of antique classic cars that were part of the 2010 edition is long. Two of these amazing cars were a 1903 Knox Model C Stanhope and a 1906 Winton Model K Touring. These cars were also the oldest cars that shined at the event.

The antique classic car that won the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance was the 1933 Delage D8S Roadster, which has been carefully restored. Even the original color was replicated!

All that being said, I think I really caught your attention and I’m sure you will experience the same kind of adventures even if you only go to one of these antique classic shows. It is definitely worth the trouble.
