Aston Martin Cygnet production confirmed

Yesterday it was a big day for Aston Martin, because the British company officially confirmed the production of the Cygnet small city car. Ever since the concept has been introduced, a lot of controversy was created around the Cygnet, a lot of people, including us, considering it to be a blasphemy to Aston’s glorious history. Yeah, of course, when you look at their press release, especially when they say “Luxury is not constrained by size” it kinda makes sense, but coming from Aston Martin it’s just awkward. When you say Aston Martin, you think about elegant sporty supercars, not about a pimped Toyota iQ.

According to Aston, the Cygnet production will start in 2011 at the company’s Gaydon plant in Warwicshire. Oh, and by the way, if any of you thought this might be your first chance of owning an Aston Martin (even if it’s a miniature one), forget about it, because the car will only be available to existing Aston owners.
