Audi launches a new 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo engine
Audi 3.0-liter V6 Engine
The Ingolstadt-based automaker Audi has introduced a new bi-turbo diesel engine which will be available for the A6, A6 Allroad and the A7 Sportback. This 3.0-liter engine generates 309 hp (313 PS / 230 kW) and has a peak torque of 479 lb.-ft (650 Nm).
The power unit is mated to an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox and a quattro AWD system that allows the A6 to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 5.1 seconds. The Allroad version of the A6 can do the sprint in 5.3 seconds, just like the A7 Sportback. All three models can reach a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Even though we are dealing with a powerful engine, it comes with the start/stop system and an “ innovative thermal management system” that allows the engine to return 36.7 mpg (44.1 mpg UK or 6.4 liters / 100 km) while CO2 emissions stand at 169 g/km.
