Used Convertible Car
In the last decade, convertible cars have recorded a so called “renaissance” in terms of technology, design and efficiency. Many people considered for a long time that convertibles were perfect only for summer days, but when the winter came these cars became unbearable to drive because of the noisy fabric tops and insulation. Nowadays, all these inconveniences no longer exist. The retractable hardtops are made of folding metal roof which is similar to that of a factory coupe and the quality of the materials used has also improved. As a result, nowadays convertible cars are considered as “year-round” vehicles.
In addition, the image of convertibles was improved in the eye of the customer because of the usage of a chassis that is similar to that used for coupes. We all know that a roof is an important component for a car and the older convertibles had a lot of chassis and body flex when the car took corners. That was irritating for most drivers. Nowadays, the advances made on convertibles made it possible for a used car market to appear. You have the possibility to choose anything from an entry-level to a high luxury convertible depending on your lifestyle and needs. Some convertibles have even become some of the best sold cars on the market after the improvement of their powertrain and features.
If you are interested in buying a used convertible car you can consider buying one of the three most popular and best used convertibles available on the market. First on my list are the BMW 3 Series models manufactured between 2000 and 2010. This used convertible is one of the best German convertible cars available on the market. It is equipped with different engine versions including a 3.0 liter V6 engine able to produce 231 horsepower, a 2 liter, a 2.3 liter or a 2.5 liter engine version. All the models are equipped with an automatic or manual transmission and a firmer suspension. The interior is sporty and features sports seats covered in a combination of Alcantara and leather, navigation system, an M-Tech steering wheel and other incredible gadgets. The price for a used BMW 3 Series varies between $8,160 and $38,227 for a 2010 used BMW 3 Series.
Another interesting used convertible car is the Ford Mustang manufactured between 2005 and 2007 with prices which vary between $11,402 for a 2005 model and $15,958 for a used 2007 Mustang. In 2005, the Ford Mustang was redesigned and received a new chassis, a solid-axle rear suspension and a stylish exterior design. The more recent models are equipped with a 4.0 liter V6 engine (able to produce 210 horsepower) or with a 4.6 liter V8 engine version able to deliver 300 horsepower. It also features a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, satellite radio, navigation system, side airbags, traction control, antilock brakes and a glass roof.
Last but not the least, the Mazda MX-5 models should also be an option on your list if you want to buy an incredible used convertible. This convertible, especially its models built between 2006 and 2007, has sharper curves and offers an incredible driving experience. The Mazda MX-5 models were redesigned in 2006 and are available in six different trim levels. The MX-5 hosts a 2.0 liter engine able to produce 170 horsepower and it features a five or six-speed manual transmission, ABS, side airbags, a seven-speaker Boss audio system, a CD player, air conditioning and power windows. The prices for these used Mazda MX-5 models vary between $10,948 for a 2006 model and $19,883 for a 2010 used Mazda.
