BMW 135i Performance Edition Available In U.S. From August
This week, BMW USA has announced its plans to offer the Performance Edition package for the 135i model, just like they do for the bigger 3-Series 335i. This package consists of a Stage 1 power kit that increases the output of the engine by 20 hp (20 PS / 15 kW) and 32 lb.-ft (43 Nm) for the 6-cylinder 3.0-liter engine, which means that the total output figure is 322 hp (326 PS / 240 kW).
Aside from this extra oomph under the hood, the car also gets black kidney grilles as well as “Performance Edition” badging. Just like for the aforementioned 335i model, this package is expected to be retrofit-able for any 135i model that is fitted with the Sport / M-Sport package.
The Performance Edition package for the 335i costs $550 so most likely the one for the 135i will have the same price tag. Full details are expected to be announced in August so stay tuned for more information.
PS: The car in this picture is a regular 2011 BMW 135i, without the Performance Edition package.
