BMW And Audi Reveal 2012 DTM Cars
The German car manufacturer BMW revealed yesterday its M3 DTM race car which will have to face up some serious competition coming from Mercedes-Benz and Audi. The car will be driven by BMW Motorsport drivers Andy Priaulx from Great Britain and Augusto Farfus from Brazil.
The car is on display this weekend at the BMW Welt, located in Munich. This beast is powered by an air-restricted V8 engine that churns 473 hp (480 PS / 353 kW), enough for a 0-62 mph sprint time in three seconds and a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
A couple of hours after BMW revealed its 2012 DTM car, Audi replied with the first renderings of its new A5 DTM concept. This new model is going to replace the 4-door A4 DTM that since its introduction back in 2004 managed to grab four DTM titles. The car will be powered by a V8 engine with 456 hp (460 PS / 340 kW), coming from the A4 DTM. The model features a carbon fiber high-strength monocoque and a steel roll cage.
