For those of you who haven’t heard about Startech, they are a branch of Brabus, the very famous Mercedes-Benz tuners. The Range Rover Evoque you see in these photos will make its first public appearance at the upcoming 2011 Dubai International Auto Show. At the moment, they’ve only created a bodykit for the sexy crossover, but they are also working on a power boost for the 2.0-liter SI4 gasoline engine.

The aero kit for the Evoque brings a new front fascia that was developed in the wind tunnel and has bigger air vents. According to Startech, the new front spoiler of the car can increase the downforce on the front axle.

At the back, we find a new rear bumper that has an integrated diffuser, along with a roof spoiler and a new set of tail pipes. The crossover can ride on 21- or 22-inch alloys that have a cool dark finish. The new suspension system developed by the tuner for this model can lower the ride height by up to 35 mm.

Inside the cabin, the Range Rover Evoque comes with aluminum pedals, a sport steering wheel, new footrests and a revised shifter. Other than that, it has Alcantara and leather upholstery, plus a bunch of carbon fiber styling accents.
The new generation of the Range Rover will arrive in 2013 and it is expected to feature a lightweight rivet-bonded aluminum chassis which is based on a modified platform that underpins the XJ model. By implementing this new lightweight material, the car will probably be up to 40% lighter in comparison to the current model so it is expected to be 660-880 pounds lighter.
For certain elements like the rear tailgate and the body panels, the company’s engineers will use advanced composites. As a result, the car will have a curb weight similar to that of a fully-loaded luxury sedan, promising to bring better fuel efficiency and increased performance. Some of the models are expected to deliver 33.3 mpg in the combined cycle.
2013 Range Rover
Land Rover will use the same platform for the Range Rover Sport that will replace the LR4 model in the company’s lineup and it will be available for the first time in its history with a 7-seat configuration.
The photographers from Motor Authority have managed to grab a few spy shots with one of the prototypes while conducting some tests in Germany. Also known as the L405, the new generation of the Range Rover appears to be a little bit longer compared to the model you see on the roads today, while the roofline will be lowered significantly. As a result, the offroader will look smaller and it should have a lower drag.
2013 Range Rover
As for the engines, most likely these will be borrowed from the current generation model, including here the V8 5.0-liter supercharged and naturally aspirated engines, along with a few new turbodiesels that will probably be available only in Europe since the U.S. is not a big fan of diesels. The British automaker will also be working on a hybrid version of the Range Rover that will be able to return somewhere around 33 mpg.
2013 Range Rover
The new generation of the Land Rover Range Rover will probably make its official debut next March at the 2012 edition of the Geneva Motor Show or later on in April at the New York Auto Show.
The fourth generation of the highly successful Land Rover Range Rover will be launched in fall 2012 and according to company insiders, it promises to be the most radical and technically advanced model in the entire history of the British brand.
This rendering was created by the guys from Autocar.co.uk by using accurate info from Land Rover sources to show how the all-new Range Rover will look like when it will replace the current third generation model that was launched more than a decade ago.
Known within the company as the L405, the new Range Rover will adopt some of the styling of the sleek Evoque and as a consequence it will ditch some of the design cues of the model that have been around for decades. The interior cabin of the SUV promises to offer a considerably higher level of quality and luxury.
The vehicle is going to be manufactured around an all-new pressed aluminum monocoque so it will lose some weight compared to the current model, although it will be bigger. Autocar says that the British engineers will manage to shave off about 500 kg and the new model will be 25 mm longer.
With this newly developed architecture, the rear wheels of the Range Rover have been pushed further towards the back of the vehicle and the advantage is that the new model will offer more legroom by up to 125mm and thanks to the fact that the rear doors will be longer, the cabin access will be further improved as well.
Compared to today’s Range Rover Sport, the fourth generation of the SUV will adopt a more sloping roofline and a more steeply raked windscreen while the headlamps will be less obtrusive and slimmer. The vent in the front wing will be slanted in order to reflect the angle of the car’s windscreen.
The car will be motivated by the same array of V6 & V8 diesels, as well as V8 and supercharged V8 engines. Some say that Land Rover also plans on offering a gasoline V6 and a supercharged V6 gasoline unit. The new gasoline V6 might make it into a hybrid version of the Range Rover which the automaker previewed earlier this year when they’ve unveiled the Range_e concept. Most likely, it will adopt a 69 kW electric motor which will be incorporated in the 8-speed automatic gearbox. It will feature a 14 kWh battery and it will be able to offer a drive range of up 20 miles on electric mode.
Compared to the current model, all of the next generation variants of the Range Rover will be considerably more frugal thanks mostly to the implementation of the pressed & riveted aluminum monocoque we’ve mentioned before. It is expected that the entry-level Range Rover TDV6 model will have CO2 emissions of less than 200 g/km.
Our esteemed colleagues from Auto Express have captured a few spy shots with the upcoming generation of the Land Rover Range Rover. Set to rival the Porsche Cayenne as well as the soon-to-be-released Maserati Kubang and Bentley’s SUV, the all-new Range Rover will feature a more modern appearance, rounding off the edges and adding LED daytime running lights.
Next-gen Range Rover
Compared to the current model, the new one will weigh 500 kg less thanks to the implementation of an aluminum chassis which will lower the overall weight of the car to about 2,000 kg. Aside from going on a diet, the new Range Rover will be motivated by a revised 4.4-liter diesel engine that will develop 320 hp. The engine is going to be mated to an updated 8-speed automatic transmission that will feature the stop/start technology. This means that the CO2 emissions will be reduced from the current 253 g/km to less than 180 g/km, while fuel economy will be up to 35 mpg UK.
Next-gen Range Rover
Also in the works are a V6 engine and a beefier V8 supercharged 5.0-liter unit. Rumors say that the British engineers are also working on a hybrid variant that will have an electric motor attached to the gearbox.
Next-gen Range Rover
As for the interior cabin, expect to see more rear space for the passengers, due to some complaints that the current Range Rover is not spacious enough in the back. In addition, the car will get a whole bunch of gadgets, like direct syncing of smartphones as well as integration of devices like a tablet for the rear seat entertainment.
Next-gen Range Rover
The new generation of the Land Rover Range Rover is scheduled to make its official debut in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales are expected to commence in the summer for a base price of about 70,000 pounds, which is more than the current model.
The British car maker Land Rover has revealed today the second version of its DC100 Concept at the 2011 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show. With this second iteration of the concept, LR wants to demonstrate the design and image flexibility that it plans on implementing on the production version which will be out sometime in 2015.
Land Rover Defender DC100
Wearing a yellow exterior paint, the DC100 Sport is an open-top speedster-style car that has cut-down screens as well as a twin-humped fastback tonneau to shroud its payload area and rear seats. It rides on massive 22-inch alloys that are wrapped around in ultra low profile rubbers. Just like the first DC100, this one features a 3+3 seating configuration, a throwback to the seating arrangement of the original Land Rovers.
Land Rover Defender DC100
The car is motivated by either a 2.0-liter gasoline or diesel engine and can offer hybrid capabilities as well, while the engine is mated to an 8-speed transmission. The now popular stop/start system is standard, as well as the newest generation of the Terrain Response. The engine benefits from a traditional transfer box in order to provide permanent AWD, but it also has a so-called “driveline disconnect” system that can decouple the wheels in the back for improving fuel efficiency when you don’t need the all-wheel drive system.
Land Rover Defender DC100 (Frankfurt Motor Show 2011)
On the roof of the Land Rover Defender DC100 are solar panels, while another interesting technology would have to be the continuous Internet connection, as well as the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which is a new type of key fob recognition.
Land Rover Defender DC100
When the production version will be launched in 2015, experts in the industry estimate that the new model will be sold in approximately 50,000 units per year. Until then, we’ll probably see many other similar concepts that will offer a sneak preview of the road-going model.
The British automaker Land Rover has announced this week that the 2012 Defender will come with several updates, the most important one being the all-new 2.2-liter diesel engine that is Euro 5 compliant. The engine produces 120 hp (122 PS / 90 kW) and has a peak torque of 265 lb.-ft (360 Nm) and it is going to replace the old 2.4-liter unit.
2012 Land Rover Defender
With this engine the 2012 Land Rover Defender will be able to reach a top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h) while CO2 emissions will be of 266 g/km for the Defender 90 and 295 g/km for the Defender 110 / 130.
2012 Land Rover Defender
Aside from the implementation of a new power unit, the Defender will be available with a choice of two new packages. The first one is priced at 1650 pounds carrying the Comfort Pack name and it comes with power windows / locks, CD player and air conditioning. The other one, dubbed Off-Road Pack, will set you back 1500 pounds and for this money you’ll get a ball hitch, underbody protection, off-road tires and anti-lock brakes.
The 2012 Defender will be available for sale starting with November and the base price in United Kingdom starts from 20,995 pounds.
Most of the time, we have the impression that celebrities are persons from somewhere outside of our world, preoccupied only with fashion, looking good and making lots of money. This is why we have the tendency to omit that, during their daily life, they are regular people too, with regular concerns and regular problems too; that sometimes they cannot honor their “celebrity” duties.
It’s the case of the fashion icon Victoria Beckham, who gave birth to her third child a couple of days ago, which is why the launch of Land Rover’s “Victoria Beckham Special Edition” is currently delayed. The Evoque is the product of company’s new creative design director and has already been finalized, waiting to be launched as soon as Posh Spice is ready to work again.
Here you can see the presentation video of the car:
The launching date and the technical specifications have not been yet indicated. But taking into account Victoria’s fashion style, we expect the car to present some of her influence in the interior design.
So, even famous pop stars are women when it comes to their family, children and personal fulfillment. But still, we cannot wait for the car!
The British automaker Land Rover has revealed this week a range of updates for the Range Rover Sport and the Discovery 4 models. They’ve manage to upgrade the SDV6 3.0-liter diesel engine to 252 hp (256 PS / 188 kW) and 443 lb.-ft (600 Nm), which is an increase of 11 hp (11 PS / 8 kW). This power unit is now linked to a brand new 8-speed automatic gearbox that packs steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a rotary gear-selector similar to the one you see in Jaguar models, enabling both SUVs to have CO2 emissions of 230 g/km which is pretty reasonable for this segment.
2012 Land Rover Discovery 4
Both the Range Rover Sport and the Discovery 4 get updated rims and infotainment systems, along with 17-speaker 825W Harman Kardon audio system that is an optional feature. The Range Rover Sport gets a new power-operated tailgate, along with a 7-inch touchscreen display that benefits from the Dual View technology. The Discovery 4 now features Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist.
I’m not a big fan of crossovers or SUVs but I’ve always had a soft spot for the Range Rover Evoque ever since Land Rover revealed the first official photos. This week, the very first unit of this model rolled of Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood plant on Merseyside. It is a 5-door model with the Dynamic trim level that has a white exterior finish. Just like all other new Jaguar Land Rover products, this one is going to be donated to the Heritage Motor Center Museum, located in Gaydon.
The Range Rover Evoque is going to be built alongside with the Freelander model. Land Rover doubled the staff at the plant by hiring 1,500 new employees in order to produce the Evoque. The British automaker is going to pump 2 million pounds in UK’s economy with no less than 40 contracts that were handed out to local supply companies.
In its homeland, Ranger Rover believes that customers will choose in equal amount the 3- and 5-door version, but for the global market it is expected that the 5-door model will be bought by approximately 2/3 of the clients.
The first 15,000-20,000 units of the Evoque are going to be manufactured before the customer-specific models so that the suppliers will benefit from an initial stability of orders. Land Rover stated that about 50% of clients will be women and the average age of the buyers will be between 30 and 40 years.
The entry-level, 2WD diesel fitted with the manual gearbox costs from 27,955 pounds and it will reach the showrooms in United Kingdom this September, but you already can make a preorder. It is going to be available in three different trim levels: Pure, Prestige and the top-spec Dynamic. Customers will be able to choose from one of the following three engines: a 2.2-liter turbodiesel unit that produces 148 hp or 187 hp, along with a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine that churns out 236 hp.
The sexy 2012 Range Rover Evoque will hit the stateside dealerships this fall and you can get one for yourself if you’re willing to pay at least $43,995. For this money you’ll get the 5-door model which costs roughly the same as the one sold in UK. Choosing the 3-door model will set you back another $1,000.
In order to get a decent fuel economy rating from EPA, the engineers over at Land Rover put a lot of work into lowering the curb weight of the Evoque as much as possible. The crossover SUV weighs 3,680 lbs (1,680 kg) and will do 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
In United States, the Range Rover Evoque doesn’t have that many competitors to battle with as the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3 are not available, at least for now.
You probably have heard already that the British car manufacturer Land Rover is taking into consideration a fourth model in the Range Rover lineup, but now a new report has surfaced the Internet indicating the company is thinking about whether to give the car the green light for production of not.
We don’t have many details about this new model, but rumors say that it is going to be an extended-length version of the Evoque, which will be up to 11.8 inches (300 mm) longer and 3.9 inches (100 mm) taller in comparison to the standard model, which will certainly provide a more spacious interior cabin and a possible 7-seat configuration.
Most likely, the engines will remain pretty much the same, which means that the Evoque XL will be powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 237 hp (240 PS / 177 kW) along with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel power plant that generates 148 hp (150 PS / 110 kW) and 187 hp (190 PS / 140 kW).
Range Rover Sport 3.0TD V6 Davis Mark II Limited Edition By Project Kahn
You probably know that Project Kahn has a soft spot for the Range Rover and this new tuning package shouldn’t come as a surprise. Dubbed Davis Mark II, this limited edition is based on the 2011 Range Rover Sport model, the one with the V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine.
From the outside, we notice that white paint, the new aero package and the grey-finished lower parts. Red and blue was used for the air vent trims, side steps and the brake calipers. It rides on a new pair of 22-inch alloy rims and the door handles have been painted in grey.

As far as the inside cabin is concerned, the tuning specialists offer a bespoke interior, featuring quilted RS Cosworth leather trim, along with a new infotainment system.
They will also increase the power of the engine by 55 hp for a grand total of 300 hp.
This conversion will cost you about 25,000 pounds ($40,800).

Axeon is a company that specializes in electric energy and their latest project is this Land Rover Defender EV, dubbed Electric Game Viewer Concept. It was developed for the game park sector, with the sole purpose of minimizing the impact of off-road vehicles on the environment.
Axeon Electric Land Rover Defender
The car is powered by an air-cooled AC induction motor that generates 59 kW and 330 Nm of torque and has 10 kW of regenerative power. The required electricity is stored in a 27 kWh phosphate battery, which should be enough for a range of up to 80 km, and a reserve of 20 km. According to Axeon, the Defender can be used for up to 8 hours of game drive.
This Defender still is a true offroader, packing a permanent four-wheel drive system with a differential lock.
The British automaker has started working on a replacement for the company’s iconic Defender model, a project that insiders describe as being the most ambitious project ever developed by the car manufacturer. A couple of days ago, John Edwards, who is Land Rover’s global brand director, stated that they are “serious about replacing the Defender” and we should expect some initial results “in the next two to three years.”
According to AutoCar, this ambitious project will involve a significant investment by Tata, the Indian-based company that owns Land Rover. Aside from a new platform and factory space, an extensive range of body styles is expected to be offered, for station wagons, pick-ups, along with bespoke specials for commercial customers. The production of these new models will start sometime in mid-2015.
A concept version of the Defender’s replacement should be revealed in the next two years.
The car you see in this video is a Range Rover Spirito DiVino, an SUV that comes with an embedded wine bar. It was presented last weekend at the Verona Vinitaly 2011 and is based on the Vogue SE model. Not like it matters, but the engine is a V8 4.4 TD that produces 309 hp (313 PS / 230 kW). What matters are the two refrigerator cabinets that have been installed in the rear cargo compartment and can store up to 12 bottles of wine.
To keep the wine cool, the refrigerator unit can be recharged through a dedicated solar panel or by a regular power cord plugged into an external outlet. Also available is a set of glasses and that exterior paintwork that stays with the wine theme thanks to the appropriate wine-colored body.
The Range Rover Spirito DiVino has been developed by Land Rover Italia, Aznom in partnership with the publication Spirito DiVino.
PS: I remember seeing something familiar on an old episode of Top Gear. That car was also a Range Rover. Anyway, the idea behind this SUV is ridiculous.
