Used Chevrolet Trucks

Chevrolet trucks are well known because of their incredible design, spacious cabin and powerful engines. While some owners are satisfied driving a new truck model, others love driving used Chevrolet trucks. If you are interested in buying a used Chevrolet truck you should take a look at the models available and know a thing or two about the process.

It’s known that Chevrolet trucks have a long history accumulated during their 100 year existence. These trucks are famous especially because they come equipped with powerful engines able to produce massive horsepower. In addition, the variety of trucks offered is wide. There is a so called “buying rule” of used trucks which is respected by Chevrolet trucks and says something like this: “the more selection, the better buying”.

The first thing you should do, if you decide to buy a used Chevrolet truck, is to visit a local Chevrolet dealer because he is able to offer his customers a large variety of used Chevrolet trucks from which to choose. That’s because many buyers trade up older Chevrolet trucks for the newest Avalanche, Silverado or Colorado models. The dealer will also offer you a GM Certified plan (for the used Chevrolet truck you choose) which includes a 12 month/12,000 miles warranty and a powertrain limited warranty. You should also check used car lots, because many include well maintained used Chevrolet trucks. Don’t forget about the retail outlets organized by regional and national chains such as CarMax either.

Another option is to check local newspapers and “auto trader” publications for ads that refer to Chevrolet trucks. If you’re an Internet fan you can also visit websites like Craigslist or eBay where you can find many such ads. It’s known that buying directly from the individual owner is better than buying the truck from a dealer, because you will pay less money. The only thing you should keep in mind is to get a CarFax report before you buy the car. This is very important because you will find out the truth about the car’s repair history and if the truck was involved in any serious accident. This CarFax report will cost you around $30.

An example of a used Chevrolet truck you should consider buying is the Avalanche model manufactured between 2007 and 2010. The Avalanche was redesigned in 2007 and, as a result, the cabin is more spacious and equipped with a lot of useful and modern features. There are three different trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ, equipped with a 5.3 liter V8 engine able to produce 320 horsepower. This Chevrolet truck also features a four-speed automatic transmission, a four-wheel drive system, antilock braking and traction systems. The price for a used Avalanche truck varies between $7,000 and $39,100 depending on the manufacture year and the features which equip the truck.

Another choice is the used Colorado truck with a price which varies between $4,000 and $21,600 for a model manufactured between 2004 and 2010. It comes equipped with a 2.8 liter V4 engine able to produce 175 horsepower or with a 3.5 liter five-cylinder engine which produces 220 horsepower and a four-speed manual or automatic transmission. The cabin is comfortable, spacious and equipped with head-protecting curtain side airbags and modern gadgets. You should also take a look at the Chevrolet S-series manufactured between 1994 and 2004. This used Chevrolet truck costs between $1,000 and $8,600 and is equipped with a V4 or a V6 engine able to produce up to 195 horsepower. It also features clear antilock braking system, high performance suspension, a stylish interior cabin and climate controls.
