A good opportunity to see and buy amazing classic cars is offered by the auctions that are organized in your town or in the close vicinity. All classic car collectors and enthusiasts can not wait to see the cars that are displayed at the Houston TX classic car auction, a good place to find rare classic cars.

An interesting Houston TX classic car auction took place at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabock in April 2010. This event is one of the most important classic car auctions organized in Houston and in 2010 hosted 73 cars from the R.E. Monical Collection along with some other classics. The auction was a success because of the large number of cars that was sold (162 classic cars). In total, the sales reached the incredible sum of $9,080,711.

The cars that were displayed at the auction were expected by classic cars collectors and admirers because they were rare and the majority weren’t restored. It’s the dream of every car lover to have a beauty like these in his collection. You could admire a lot of amazing classic cars of all ages, such as a 1919 Studenbaker Model EH Little Six 5-Passenger, a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette FI Convertible, a 1917 Peerless Model 56 Two Power Range Cleverleaf Roadster, a 1961 Chevrolet Impala, a 1911 Rambler Model 65 “Wide Tranck” 7 Passenger Touring, a 1963 Porsche 356B Super 90 Cabriolet or a 1963 Maserati 3500 GT Spyder.

The best sold car was a 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Roadster that convinced its new owner to pay an infinitesimal amount of $660,000. The classic car is an incredible sports car with sleek, a high performance suspension, polished wheel discs, tri-bar headlights and a 3.42:1 rear axle. This classic car that was part of the Houston classic car auction was originally built for Sir Auckland Geddes. It wasn’t restored although it has received mechanical and cosmetic attention to keep it presentable, running and in driving conditions.

1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Roadster

Another amazing classic car was a 1910 Mitchell Model S 7-Passenger Touring. It’s a great classic car that is equipped with jump seats, Solar acetylene headlights and generator, dual right side spares, Stewart speedometer and rim wind clock. It has blackwall tires on body color wheels and also an incredible paint. This amazing car is one of the only two known classic cars built in that year and in that model. The lucky owner had to pay only $220,000 to enjoy driving it.

A “hot” biding was the auction of a 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Ascot Sport Phaeton with dual sidemounts, tubular bumpers, cloth covered luggage trunk fitted to the rear of the tonneau. This classic car is incredibly well preserved and is a good example of attractive Rolls-Royce body. The price paid for this exquisite classic car by its new owner was of $200,750.

Even if the 1960 Maserati Tipo 61/60 “Birdcage” Sports Racer wasn’t sold at this Houston TX classic car auction, it was admired by all the classic car collectors and visitors. The car has a 2-litre engine with an original cylinder head, sump and cam covers. The car was restored and has a new frame and body and silver wire wheels. It’s an incredible classic car that is a great investment for any classic car collector. The price of this car was estimated at $750,000, a small price if we think that a similar car was sold for $3.3 millions in Monaco in 2010.
