Ford Focus RS Confirmed
You probably already know that next year we shall see the hot ST version of the Ford Focus, but what you don’t know is that there is going to be a hotter version, the all-mighty RS which is under development at the Blue Oval. In an interview given to Drive, Gunnar Herrmann who is the company’s Global C-segment Platform director confirmed that the automaker is working on the Focus RS.
He didn’t provide many details regarding this upcoming model but he did mention that the car will be powered by a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 345 hp (350 PS / 257 kW) to 375 hp (380 PS / 279 kW). In addition, he mentioned that car will still have a FWD configuration and it will come with the Revoknuckle suspension system that manages to diminish torque steer.
Most likely, the Focus RS will be out as a 2013 model year so we should have new details pretty soon. Stay tuned for more info.
