Ford Focus ST Makes An Appearance In Frankfurt

We finally get to see how the production version of the long anticipated ST version of the Ford Focus looks. Unveiled today at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it will feature a new aerodynamic bodykit, 18-inch alloys, a lowered sports suspension and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. It will be available not only for the 5-door hatchback but also for the wagon.

The interior cabin has been fitted with sports seats from Recaro, a metallic trim and aluminum pedals. Optional features that are going to be available include bi-xenon headlights, dual-zone climate control and heated leather seats.

What you’re interested in is what’s under that hood. You’ll find an EcoBoost 4-cylinder 2.0-liter power unit that develops 247 hp (250 PS / 184 kW) and a peak torque of 265 lb.-ft (360 Nm). The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Some of the tech goodies include a three-mode ESP, Torque Vectoring Control and Torque Steer Compensation.

In related news, the Blue Oval also showed the public attending the Frankfurt Motor Show its ST-R model, which is a track-only car that has been designed for various racing series. It has upgraded brakes, a race-tuned suspension, a FIA-compliment rollcage and the interior cabin has been stripped out for shaving off some of the weight.
