Lamborghini LP
DMC is a German tuner that isn’t as famous as some of its German competitors from the tuning world, because it has worked “under-the-radar” for a long time. Things are changing in 2011 because they just released a new limited edition of Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 for which they used as inspirational source the Lamborghini Gallardo LP540. This edition includes, in fact, two brand new versions of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP: one known as Lamborghini LP540 GT3 and another one called LP560. What these two models they’ve tuned have in common is the staff’s focus on the aerodynamic and performance upgrades. These models were designed to celebrate the Silverstone race won by Fabio Babini and Matteo Zucchi which took place in June 2011 during the Blancpain Super Trofeo competition.
The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 is the result of some important aerodynamic changes and its components are all made of carbon fiber. These changes include a new carbon spoiler, a new GT3 front apron, a new bumper and incredible wide fenders which provide the car with an incredible look. The engineering team also designed a new rear and a new rear wing, for which DMC provides two material options: carbon fiber and fiber glass. The rear changes offer improved aerodynamics which help the car achieve higher speeds. The exterior design of both cars is wider and is completed by a set of “diamond forged wheels” measuring 20 inches and wrapped in high quality tires. As a result, the driver enjoys a better handling, better control of the acceleration and a quicker braking response.
DMC also offers as optional feature a new, redesigned front hood. Unlike other tuners, DMC doesn’t offer a hood with additional carbon layers that affects the car’s aerodynamics because of the increase in weight. DMC decided to offer parts made only of carbon fiber and with a simplified design that doesn’t add many pounds to the car’s weight. You are also free to decide to use OEM products instead of carbon fiber parts. Carbon fiber is also used inside the car for the steering wheel, the door openers and for building the seats. In addition, the DMC upholstery department offers any kind of material wanted by the customer. The customer has also the possibility to personalize the floor mats and any other interior component covered in leather. Interesting about the interior of the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 is that everything is handmade.
Under the hood, the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 hosts an improved engine that is an upgrade from the 5.2 liter V10 engine which equips the regular Gallardo LP560. Due to these alterations, the engineering team managed to increase the engine’s power from 540 horsepower to 566 horsepower and to obtain 475 lb/ft of maximum torque for the LP540 while for the LP560 the engine’s power was increased up to 580 horsepower at a maximum 242 lb/ft torque. The sound of the engine is remarkable even when an end muffler is applied to the serial end pipes or when the new DMC centric twin-exhausts specially designed to fit the GT3 rear bumpers is used.
All in all, the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 edition includes some incredible supercars that offer comfort, speed and high performance engineering components. For its tuning, DMC used only high-tech materials and components that made it possible for these Lamborghini LP versions to offer an incredible driving experience and enough horsepower for any speed addicted. It’s another successful remake of a Lamborghini Gallardo that fit perfectly with the image of the Blancpain Super Trofeo competition and was well received by all the people present.
