Used Lincoln Town Car

The Ford Company released the Lincoln Town car as a full-size luxury sedan in 1981. The main purpose of manufacturing this amazing car was to “spoil up to six passengers” with large and comfortable seats, no matter their location inside the vehicle. So, if you are interested in buying a used Lincoln Town car, you should keep in mind some information about the main models available. That’s how you will be able to purchase the best used model available nowadays on the market at a price advantageous for your budget.

The Lincoln Town Cars manufactured between 1990 and 1997 were formal, slab-sided and quite boxy. But despite these characteristics, the car looked more modern and aerodynamic than most of the vehicles manufactured before 1990, because of its flush-mounted windows, its incredible edges and lighting elements. In 1991, the Lincoln town car was equipped with a 4.6 liter V8 engine able to produce 190 horsepower. For the 1994 model, the engineers increased the engine’s power to 210 horsepower. This generation of Lincoln Town Cars featured a handling package which was optional and included matched tires and a high performance suspension (for the 1993 models) and a more stylish and tasteful interior and exterior for the 1995 model. For example, a 1995 used Lincoln Town car features a 4.6 liter V8 engine, a four-speed automatic transmission, an ABS system and driver and passenger front airbags. The interior has cloth seating, automatic climate control, cruise control, AM/FM cassette audio system and air conditioning.

The second generation of Lincoln Town cars was manufactured between 1998 and 2002 and offers a roomy and comfortable interior. This generation is available in three different editions: the Executive, the Signature and the Cartier edition. In 2002 were made available two other trim levels in a long-wheelbase form. Until 2000, the Lincoln Town car was equipped with a 4.6 liter V8 engine which produced 205 horsepower. For the 2001 model, the power of the engine was increased to 220 horsepower for the Signature and the Executive editions. For the Cartier version the engine produced 235 horsepower. A 2001 used Lincoln Town car features heated mirrors, cruise control, a four-speed automatic transmission, leather trim on the center console, a trip computer, AM/FM stereo and a lot of safety measures including four-wheel ABS, dual front side placed airbags, front center lap belt and traction control.

The current generation of Lincoln Town Cars was introduced in 2003 and comes with a lot of new and modern improvements. The most interesting upgrades, visible on the more recent models, include a strengthened frame, formal styling, high performance mechanical and engineering components and a new luxurious interior. The standard models were available that year in three different trim levels: the base Executive, the ultra-push Cartier (which also includes the L version) and the luxury Signature. In 2004, the Lincoln Town Car started to be manufactured in only two trim levels: the Ultimate which was in fact the Cartier trim level and the Executive which was the new name chosen for the Signature trim level. The 2006 model became available with a chrome bedecked design and continued to be produced until 2008. A 2006 used Lincoln Town car features a 4.6 liter V8 engine able to produce 239 horsepower, a four-speed automatic transmission, a lot of safety measures, AM/FM single CD player stereo, a trip computer, dual-zone climate controls, dual illuminating vanity mirrors, cruise control and an universal remote transmitter.

The price for a used Lincoln Town Car varies between $767 for a 1990 model and $30,302 for a 2010 used Lincoln Town Car sedan.
