Looking For A Used Car To Buy

If you are looking for a used car to buy you should do a little bit of research before choosing one as without spending some time to look through all the offers you might not get the best one for your needs and budget. In this article we will give you several examples of what cars you could buy that won’t ruin your budget, but still keep you happy on the roads.
A 2009 Ford Fusion SE might be exactly what you need for transportation. When it was new, it had a retail price of $21,775, but now you can get it from a dealer with only $16k or even $14k if you can find a private seller. It will do 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The model was redesigned in 2009 and earned the “Top Safety Pick” from the IIHS – Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This family sedan packs six airbags, a lot of legroom and a generous trunk for long trips. Its handling capabilities are also quite good.
Speaking of safety, you won’t find anything better in this segment than a Volvo. A 2007 S60 2.5T will set you back about $15k if you buy it from a dealer or $13k if you can contact a private seller. When it was new, it had a price tag of $31,580. As it name says, the S60 is powered by a 2.5-liter engine that generates 208 hp and can do 30 mpg on the highway. This 2007MY got great reliability ratings so if you need something safe on the road, this would be the wise choice.
If you are on a tight budget and you need something cheaper, look for a 2008MY Hyundai Elantra SE as you can get one from a dealer for only $12k. If you are lucky enough to find a private seller, the private-party price is about $10k. The model was redesigned back in 2007 and offers a lot more interior room than more expensive cars, like the Toyota Corolla or the Honda Civic. It comes standard with six airbags and a 5-year / 60,000-mile warranty so if you buy one right now, you still have more than a year of warranty left.
A good SUV would have to be the 2008MY Honda CR-V LX which goes for approximately $16k at a dealer and $15k among private sellers. This 2008 model won many awards, including the one for the Best in Class Small Crossover for its generous interior cabin, lots of room to store stuff and a pretty good fuel economy (20 mpg city / 27 mpg highway).
If you are in the market for a sports car, a 2009MY Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport will do the trick. When it was new, the model with a manual gearbox and a soft top had a price tag of $23,500, but now you can get one from a dealer with $18,000 or even less if you can find a private seller. Although it’s a sports car, it will still do 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The car is powered by a 4-cylinder engine that produces 167 hp, mated to a manual 5-speed transmission.
Last but certainly not least, in the luxury department we find the 2009 Mercedes E350 which has a dealer used price of about $34,000. A private seller will sell you one for $2,000 less, that is if you can find one willing to say goodbye to his Benz. Bundled with lots of luxury and safety features, the E350 is the right choice for businessman on a budget. The car returns 17 mpg city / 24 mpg highway.
