Mazda CX-5 Revealed

2012 Mazda CX-5

Mazda has decided not to wait anymore for the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show and this week they’ve unveiled the all-new CX-5 compact SUV. Set to make its official debut in September, the car is based on the company’s Minagi Concept which we saw this year during the 81st edition of the Geneva Motor Show. In addition, it seems to implement Mazda’s Kodu design language and I must say that it looks quite good.

The Japanese automaker mentioned that the car will benefit from the new SKYACTIV technology which means that it will be more fuel efficient. The model fitted with the 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D engine in the 2WD configuration with the manual gearbox will have CO2 emissions of under 120 g/km.

The model is set to go on sale next year.
