The engineers from Brabus have developed a new upgrade program for the sexy Mercedes CL500 4MATIC which consists of a power boost for the 8-cylinder 4.7-liter engine which in its standard configuration is able to develop 435 hp and a peak torque of 516 lb.-ft (700 Nm).

This newly developed kit is available in two stages: Brabus B50 – 490 PowerXtra which increases the output of the engine to 490 hp (360 kW) and 575 lb.-ft (780 Nm); Brabus B50 – 520 PowerXtra that lifts the power to 520 hp (382 kW) @ 5,250 rpm and 604 lb.-ft (820 Nm), available between 1,800 rpm and 3,500 rpm. This increase in output is available by remapping the ECU.

The CL500 4MATIC is able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 300 km/h). The car also comes with a new aerodynamic body kit which includes a front + rear spoiler, side skirts with LEDs, as well as a new rear bumper.
This power kit is also available for the S500 4MATIC and both tuning kits will be unveiled at the upcoming 2011 Essen Motor Show.
