Opel Insignia OPC Unlimited Announced
I’ve always been a big fan of the old Vectra, and its replacement – the Insignia, is even better, especially as far as the looks are concerned. The OPC version is considerably more attractive than the standard model and now the German automaker has launched a special edition of the sportier version. Dubbed “Unlimited”, the main addition is the higher top speed available. The standard OPC can hit a top speed of 250 km/h and this new version is able to do 270 km/h, but it still is limited by the computers.
The car is powered by the same engine that produces 321 hp (325 PS / 239 kW), but you can distinguish it by the blue-painted Brembo caliper logo and the new design of the speedometer and tachometer. Also available is a special edition version that comes in a black matte version, too bad that we don’t have any pictures with it.
The engine can be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and all of the power is transmitted through the four-wheel drive system. The “Unlimited” is going to be available in various body styles, including: 4-door notchback sedan, 5-door hatchback and the Sports Tourer wagon.
The model will hit the dealerships later on this month for a base price of 48,605 Euros in Germany.
