Road-going Aston Martin V12 Zagato Revealed

2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato Road Version

Aston Martin has decided to reveal this week the road version of the V12 Zagato, which is scheduled to go into production in mid-2012. Based on the V12 Vantage, this hand-built supercar will feature a body made out of aluminum and carbon fiber. Under the hood it will have a 6-liter engine that churns 510 hp and has a peak torque of 420 lb.-ft.

The car was developed after 50 years since the introduction of the exquisite DB4GT Zagato and was first seen in May during the Villa D’Este Concours in Italy. It managed to grab the award for best design and the best prototype.

Two Aston Martin V12 Zagato prototypes were used at Nurburgring, including here during the demanding 24-hour event which was held back in June. These two cars are set to make an appearance in September during the Frankfurt Motor Show, along with other AM cars like the Virage, Virage S and the One-77.

The British car manufacturer said that they are going to make only 150 units of the road-version V12 Zagato and the base price for the model, not including VAT, will be of 330,000 pounds.
