Mercedes SLK Tuned By Brabus

Mercedes SLK by Brabus

You all know how Brabus has a soft spot for Mercedes and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that their latest project is based on the sexy SLK. Design-wise, they’ve come up with a new front lip spoiler and a whole bunch of wheels that are available in sizes from 17 to 19 inches. At the back, they can fit your SLK with a trunk-mounted spoiler, a four-tailpipe sport exhaust system and a diffuser. In addition, they’ll also throw in a suspension lowering kit that brings your car closer to the ground by 30 mm. Inside the cabin, you can order aluminum pedals, Alcantara or Mastik leather, along with stainless steel scuff plates.

The major update is under the hood where Brabus can equip the 4-cylinder power units with ECO PowerXtra CGI auxiliary control modules, increasing the hp figure of the 200 BlueEFFICIENCY model by 26 hp (25 hp / 19 kW) and 22 lb.-ft (30 Nm) for a grand total of 207 hp (209 PS / 154 kW) and 206 lb.-ft (280 Nm).

If you own the SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY model, they can dial up the power output from the standard 201 hp (204 PS / 150 kW) to 226 hp (230 PS / 169 kW). If this isn’t enough, you can opt for the wastegate valve and the special intercooler that raises the power to 236 hp (240 PS / 176 kW) and 273 lb.-ft (370 Nm) of torque, allowing the SLK to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 6.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 154 mph (248 km/h).

Brabus Upgrades New Mercedes Twin-Turbo V8s

Brabus B63

The German tuners over at Brabus have revealed their latest tuning program for the twin-turbo V8 power units found in the Mercedes CL/S550 and the CL/S63 AMG. As if these engines weren’t powerful enough, they’ve raised the hp bar higher.

Brabus B63

Let’s start with the CL500 and S500 models (CL550 and the S500 models in United States), which can be fitted with a 490 PowerXtra CGI kit that allows the V8 power unit to crank out 482 hp (490 PS / 360 kW) and 575 lb.-ft (780 Nm), a lot more from the standard 429 hp (435 PS / 320 kW). If this isn’t enough to satisfy your thirst for more power, they also offer the 520 PowerXtra CGI kit that increases the output of the engine to 512 hp (520 PS / 382 kW) and 604 lb.-ft (820 Nm).

Brabus B63

They also developed a 584 PowerXtra CGI package for the CL63 and the S63 AMG, which delivers an additional 39 hp (40 PS / 29 kW). A more powerful kit is the 620 PowerXtra CGI that raises the total output of the engine to 610 hp (620 PS / 455 kW) and 737 lb.-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. With this kit, both the CL- and S-Class can do the 0-60 mph sprint in 4.3 seconds, on their way to a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h).

BRABUS 700 Biturbo Mercedes SLS AMG

Based on the beautiful Mercedes SLS AMG, the Brabus 700 Biturbo has been unveiled today at the 81st edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The German engineers came up with their own twin-turbo system to fit to the SLS’s V8 power unit and it now outputs 690 hp (700 PS / 514 kW) and 626 lb.-ft (850 Nm) of torque.

BRABUS 700 Biturbo Mercedes SLS AMG

This bi-turbo system has a left-turning charger that was attached to the left side of the power unit, as opposed to most right-charging, right-side fitted twin turbochargers. This type of fitting permits improved dynamics and gas flow.

BRABUS 700 Biturbo Mercedes SLS AMG

They’ve also installed a new intercooling system, a sports air filter system, performance exhaust manifold, forged pistons that reduce the compression ratio to 9.0:1 as well as a remap of the SLS’s ECU. The all-new performance exhaust system was made by Brabus and it is constructed out of ultra light titanium and has four slanted tailpipes that measure 84 mm in diameter.

The SLS AMG also got a WIDESTAR wide-body kit that widens the rear axle by 20 mm. It also has a new front spoiler, rear spoiler lip on the trunk lid as well as a rear diffuser. The Brabus 700 Biturbo sits on 9.5Jx20-inch wheels, wrapped around 275/30 ZR 20 tires in the front and 11Jx21-inch rims covered by 295/25 ZR 21 rubber in the back. The tires are supplied by Yokohama or Pirelli.

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

We all know that Mercedes is one of the top dogs in the automotive business, offering models in every single segment, but what’s the deal with the Unimog? I for one can’t imagine someone buying this car(?), but who am I to judge?

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

You all have heard of Brabus, right? They are well-known for making some of the fastest Mercedes models out there. Taking into consideration that they were willing to tune the Smart car, it shouldn’t be a surprise that they decided to roll out a tuned Unimog.

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

Let’s start with the exterior look of this truck. First of all, its proportions are gigantic! It has 455/70 R24 tires that look like the ones you see on airplanes. The guys over at Brabus tried to give this vehicle a sportier and sleek look by adding new front and rear bumpers, chrome rollover bars, side paneling with air vents and a diamond plate truck bed along with a full size spare. If you want this truck, you’ll have to get it in black as it is the only color available.

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

Inside, the truck looks a little bit more normal. It has leather and carbon-fiber on most of the surface, including here the massive center dashboard / command center or whatever you like to call it. Alcantara was used to cover the tall A and B pillars. The Unimog has a COMAND system borrowed from the S-Class and features a 6.5-inch screen, a CD changer and a compass which is an exclusive feature for the Brabus Unimog.

Brabus 2008 Mercedes Unimog

From the console located between the seats, the driver has the possibility to control the power windows, locks, differential locks and a whole bunch of other functions. The seats you see in this picture are air-suspended comfort shock-cushioning units that have a full lumbar support. The Unimog benefits from two independently-controlled AC systems, heater (plus an auxiliary one) that takes great care of the passenger’s comfort.

Under its odd hood you’ll find a 6-cyilnder turbo diesel engine that produces 282 hp and a whopping 862 lb.-ft of torque, allowing this 12-ton monster to reach a top speed of over 60 mph. The driver of the Unimog has the possibility to choose from the smooth automatic function or the manual mode for changing the gears.

How much is it? $330,445 but there is only one available and it isn’t brand new, as it already reads 15,600 km on the odometer. Would you buy it if you had the money? I sure wouldn’t.

Brabus Reveals The First Euro 6 Compliant Performance Kit For Diesels

Brabus S350 ECO PowerXtra D6S

We all know Brabus for creating pretty impressive performance kits for Mercedes-Benz models. A couple of days ago they announced the new ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit, developed for the S350 BlueTec mode. By doing so, the tuning specialist claims to have launched the world’s very first tuned diesel-powered car that meets the Euro 6 emissions standard which will go into effect three years from now. The kit will be available for both RWD and 4Matic 4WD configurations and will add 55 hp / 52 lb-ft of torque, rounding up the power output to 313 hp / 509 lb-ft.

Brabus designed this kit to work as a plug-and-play device and it will increase the V6 3.0-liter diesel’s output depending upon the selected shift mode of the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. While in “eco” mode, the peak torque increases and the engine output remains the same, standing at 258 hp. For “sport” and “manual”, the maximum power is also increased.

With this performance kit, the Mercedes-Benz S350 will do the 0-620 mph sprint in 6.5 seconds, onto a top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited). The kit can also be installed for the CLS 350 CDI BlueEfficiency as well as the E350 CDI BlueEfficiency, offering the same output.

All of these models are offered with a 3-year / 62,000 miles warranty and can come along with a Brabus stainless steel exhaust that has 4 tailpipes.

Mercedes SLS BRABUS WIDESTAR Wide Version

Mercedes SLS BRABUS WIDESTAR Wide Version

The famous German tuner Brabus has recently announced the BRABUS WIDESTAR, which is a wide-body version of the Mercedes SLS AMG. This tuning consists of a carbon-fiber body kit that has a new front spoiler, a redesigned rear spoiler, a reconfigured diffuser and the wide body paneling for the fenders of the SLS that have side outlets and air dams.

These modifications of the SLS AMG have widened the car by 20 mm at the back, which allowed the German tuner to install lightweight forged rims – Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION that have the following dimensions: 11Jx21 for the wheels in the back and 9.5Jx20 for the front wheels of the Mercedes. These rims will be covered by 295/25 ZR 21 and 275/30 ZR 20 Yokohama or Pirelli tires. This set of wheels is available with a ceramic polished surface that can be had in any given color or with a brushed-design.

Mercedes SLS BRABUS WIDESTAR Wide Version

In addition to these modifications, BRABUS installed an electronically adjustable suspension kit made by Bilstein that has the Ride Control feature and stiffer sway bars for the rear and front axels of the SLS. With this kit, the car can be lowered with up to 30 mm.

Other modifications include the BRABUS performance exhaust system which is 40% (12 kg) less heavy than the standard exhaust system installed by Mercedes and at the same time it offers an additional power of 7.4 kW (10 PS). The exhaust system is offered with four slanted exhaust tips as well as a sound management for the powerful V8 6.2-liter.

As far as the interior is concerned, BRABUS can fit the SLS AMG with carbon-fiber inlays that are available in a wide variety of colors plus matte anodized aluminum pedals and foot rest. The car now has a combination of leather and Alcantara covering the new sport steering wheel. The car features a 250 mph (400 km/h) speedometer.

Brabus iBusiness Mercedes-Benz S Class takes Apple love to the extreme

Brabus not only knows how to tune Mercedes-Benz models like the SLS AMG supercar, but it also takes pride in incorporating the latest technology into their tuning projects.

The latest one is the Brabus iBusiness, based on a Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG. Brabus iBusiness Mercedes-Benz S Class takes Apple love to the extreme

Brabus has fitted everything it could find in their local Apple store inside the tuned S Class. You’ll be able to enjoy not one but two iPads, a 64GB iPod Touch, two LCD screens incorporated into the front seats and also a 15.2-inch display in the headliner, connected to a Mac Mini located in the boot of the car.

Brabus Vanish revealed, 800 HP Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

Want a fast Mercedes-Benz roadster? Then check out the Mercedes-Benz SL. Want something powerful? Check out the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. Want something even more powerful? Well the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series is one of the most powerful models from the German company, with 670 HP.

That wasn’t enough for a Dubai owner, who wanted a *bit* more power out of his recently purchased roadster. As such, he flew it to traditional MB tuner Brabus, who went to work improving the car. Thanks to enlarged turbochargers, an enhanced gearbox, better brakes and a fresh exhaust system, the car is now even more powerful.

How much so? The Brabus Vanish (good name, btw) now outputs 800 HP from the twin-turbo V12 engine. Enough to put to shame a lot of the cars now on the road. For those who were already checking their bank account, this has been one-off model made by Brabus, but we’re pretty sure that with the right amount of money, they’ll make you one as well.

Brabus unveils E V12 Coupe: 800 HP Mercedes-Benz E Class Coupe

Brabus sure loves to fiddle with Mercedes-Benz models, and after releasing the E V12 sedan at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the tuners decided that the E Class Coupe would also be worthy of such a treatment.

As such, the 6.3-liter twin-turbo V12 found its way onto the E V12 Coupe, and was showcased at last week’s Geneva Motor Show. Power figures are much unchanged, with the engine developing 800 HP and 1047 lb-ft of torque. This translates into a 0 to 62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 230 mph.

Besides the beefed up engine, larger brakes, performance coilover suspension and a set of 19-inch wheels. As with any Brabus tuning project, carbon fiber was used extensively on everything from the front spoiler, to the rear fenders, intake system of interior seats and trim.

So, how much is it going to cost this hugely powerful coupe? Around €478,000 (almost $650,000).

Brabus unveils Mercedes-Benz GLK V12, world’s fastest SUV, in Dubai

We’re keeping with the broken world records, as after the BMW 335d prepped by AC Schnitzer took the world’s fastest diesel title, another German tuning company, Brabus, took the Mercedes-Benz GLK crossover and placed the massive 6.3-liter bi-turbo V12 engine under its bonnet, which develops 750 HP and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft), in order to break another record.

The engine, connected with a five-speed automatic gearbox, managed to take the GLK from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, reaching 200 km/h in 12.8 and stopping at 322.3 km/h, or 211 mph, making it the fastest street-legal SUV in the world.

Of course such a performance isn’t as simple as fitting a big engine into a car, as new intercoolers, free-flow metal catalysts and a stainless steel exhaust were also added. The outside wasn’t forgotten, as a carbon fiber spoiler lip, a new front apron with bigger air dams, Brabus widestar fender flares, underside LED lights and a new roof spoiler were added.

In case you want to catch a glimpse of the new Brabus GLK V12, you can see it at the Dubai International Motor Show, which starts today, and even buy it for a measly €397,000 (around $580,890).
