Even though Top Gear Australia on Channel 9 was canceled after only four seasons, the magazine is alive and kicking. The crew of the magazine decided that for the November issue cover story they need local Stig and Ken Block. The two talented drivers managed to do a very impressive show in Melbourne with the Monster Rally Fiesta and the 2011 Falcon FPV Boss 335 GT-P.
It seems to me that Ken Block could have missed his career path. In the new Gymkhana four: the Hollywood megamercial, Ken fires us his Ford Fiesta on the Hollywood sets. From there on, the Universal Studios in California witnessed a lot of tire burning, wheels screeching, engine noise filled action.
It took 5 days to shoot the GYM4, under the coordination of director Ben Conrad (known for Zombieland and 30 Seconds or Less). What you’ll see in this clip, if you haven’t already, are: robotic sharks, deranged zombies, and a hilarious cameo by the Epic Meal Time guys, and, of course, Ken Block’s Hybrid FunctionHoon Vehicle (H.F.H.V.).
In just 2 days, the video shot to 2,5 million hits on Youtube. If you ask me, I’ve seen better tricks than this, but the funny ending makes it special.
So do you think there’s a special place for Ken Block in Hollywood? Yey or ney?

This is the debut of Travis Apstrana’s new Subaru WRX for the next X-Games. The video is clearly the answer to Ken Block’s revealing of his WRC Ford Fiesta in which sexy cheerleaders appear. How did Pastrana choose to do this? By using his personal set of “cheerleader”, only that their combined age is of 199.
Even if on some levels this video is a little bit disturbing, the parody is quite good and amusing. If this is Travis Pastrana’s start, who knows what he will come up with in the next months, when he will reveal his heavy arsenal.
You can watch the video by clicking the start button below:
Just look at this guy go, people. He definitely has what it takes to be the next Ken Block. The early age means that this is pure talent waiting to be unveiled.
We bet that you never thought a toy car can do stuff like that, but this is just another example that the most important thing is the driver.
Take a look how proud he looks with the girl on the right seat. Surely this guy will be popular through highschool and college.
Just 6 more days until DIRT 3 hits the market! That means that we’ll leave our fancy rides in our elegant fantasies and , on May 24, we’ll get down and dirty with a bunch of hot rally cars. It feels good to stir up the dust and burn some tires.
Until we get to play it ourselves, Ken Block and Tanner Foust take their well prepared Ford Fiestas to the track. The things they’re up to, oh you’ll enjoy them a lot! I guess good old car stunts never go out of style. This look like soooo much fun! We can’t wait to get our hand on it.
Oh, this should be fun: Mikko Hirvonen takes his Ford Fiesta RS WRC to the track, next to Ken Block in his Monster Focus RS WRC to promote the new DiRT 3 game.
The place? Battersea Power Station. The occasion? The media launch of DiRT 3 The gist? Creating a new, custom Gymkhana Uncovered for the game.
There will be some turbo. And some tires screeching. And a girl in a red bikini. Like you need more motivation to click play.
How? By releasing the new Gymkhana Thee Part 2 video.
Shot on location in France, at the famed l’Autodrome de Linas, a banked circuit built in 1924, Gymkhana Three really showcases what made the first three videos (including 2.1) so popular all over the Internet.
Without further a do, hit the jump to see Ken Block push his 650 HP Ford Fiesta to new (smoky) heights and really wear the rubber right off the rims. Enjoy! (more…)
Ford has revealed a brand new competition, entitled 43 Fiestas.
The contest is open to all residents of the USA, and offers a lot of interesting prizes. These include 43 LCD TVs, 43 all expenses paid trip to the Ford 400 Nascar race, and one customized Ford Fiesta for one of the lucky 43 people invited to the race. What’s more, if Ford driver AJ Allmendinger wins the Nascar race, the rest of the 42 contest winners will walk away with a free Ford Fiesta.
Without a doubt, the contest will be quite popular. In order to hype it up even more, the Blue Oval has released an interesting video showcasing Nascar legend Richard ‘The King’ Petty watching AJ Allmendinger with his #43 Ford Fusion Nascar race car take on rally driver Ken Block in his #43 Fiesta model.
Needless to say, this is a must watch, so check it out after the jump. Afterwards, register for the 43 Fiestas contest at this address. (more…)
Now, thanks to the guys at Jalopnik, we have a date to circle in our calendar, plus a few new details about the upcoming video.
It seems that the Gymkhana Three Part 2 will be making its Internet debut on September 14. Also, the new video was shot on location in France, as Block is seemingly bored with drifting in the USA.
Still, expect plenty of tire shredding stunts and that same Gymkhana madness that made Block such a popular driver all over the world. He’s gonna have to work extra hard though, in order to erase the memory of the recent music video.
DC Shoes did release the first part of the Gymkhana Three, but unlike previous installments, where Block went all out, this time it’s an actual music video, with Block just making a few appearances in his DC Shoes apparel line. For anyone interested, the song is Clicking, performed by rap duo The Cool Kids.
Expect the second (and real) part of Gymkhana Three in the following weeks. Until then, score some glimpses of Block and his Fiesta in the video after the jump. (more…)
Most of you guys may already know this, but for those of you not up to date, today is the day when rally driver and stunt man Ken Block will launch his Gymkhana Three video.
Get ready for more drifting, powersliding, stunts and more as Block will throw around his 600 HP modified Ford Fiesta around an industrial complex of some sorts.
Teaser shots are already on the DC Shoes Gymkhana Three website, so stay tuned for the official video in the following hours. Until then, why don’t you check out Gymkhana 1, Gymkhana 2 and Gymkhana 2.1, all located after the jump. (more…)
Ford is kicking its marketing campaign for the new Fiesta compact into overdrive, just as the model is appearing in Blue Oval dealerships around the USA.
In order to highlight the sporty nature of the new Fiesta, Ford went to famous rally driver and stunt man Ken Block, and tasked him with completing a few everyday errands such as taking out the trash, going grocery shopping or delivering mail.
As you can imagine, he isn’t using a regular Fiesta for all these tasks, instead relying on his custom Ford Fiesta rally car. Needless to say, hilarity and awesomeness followed.
Still, the ad doesn’t just promote the new Fiesta, but also a novel competition, entitled ‘Rock it like Block’. Fans will need to access this special website, and enter for a chance to win a special Fiesta, customized by Block himself. While it most definitely won’t be the Gymkhana Three Fiesta, it will still be awesome.
Hit the jump to check out the new Ken Block ad, and then enter in the competition. (more…)
Still, enthusiasts shouldn’t forget about the Dirt series of video games, formerly known as the Colin McRae rally titles. The franchise, developed by Codemasters, is getting ready for its third iteration in its brand new identity, and has released the first official trailer.
The video showcases the different terrains and weather the game will feature, and mainly features American rally driver and stunt man Ken Block, behind the wheel of his #43 Ford Fiesta rally car. Most importantly, however, is that the trailer also hints at a more special type of competition that you can play in the game: Gymkhana, made famous by Block himself.
Sadly, we still have to wait until 2011 for Dirt 3 to arrive, but until then, we’ll keep you updated with all the latest news about this exciting video game. Check out the first official trailer after the jump. (more…)
Ken Block is by far one of the most renowned rally drivers currently active in the USA, even though his performances aren’t ground breaking. Instead, he relied on the Gymkhana drifting videos to make sure that his name is known across the world.
Seeing the amount of publicity that Block makes for the Blue Oval’s compact model, radio station KROQ interviewed the rally driver and asked about the possibility of a Ken Block special edition Fiesta.
Surprisingly, Block admitted that such talks exist, but nothing is concrete at this moment. For the moment though, he will continue to focus on his Rally of America efforts, as well as planning the next Gymkhana and preparing for more races in the World Rally Championship.
What do you think? Would a Ford Fiesta Ken Block edition achieve impressive sales? Share your thoughts below.
Ken Block is now a household name, both in the US and abroad, thanks to his extremely impressive Gymkhana videos, where he took his Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car and effectively went all out, drifting, power sliding and doing all sorts of crazy things in specially designed locations.
Now, Block wants to turn Gymkhana into an actual motorsport, and has announced the Gymkhana Grid and the Ken Block Invitational competitions.
Set to take place on December 3 and 4, at the Toyota International Speedway, in Irwindale, the competition will see some of the best racing drivers out there try to beat Block in a special course designed to squeeze every ounce of skill and power from both driver and machine.
Needless to say, it’s going to be one heck of a show. No other details are known, but you can check out the splash page for the competition. Until then, look forward to the upcoming Gymkhana Three video to appear this summer, starring Block and a 600 HP Ford Fiesta rally car.
