Range Rover Evoque XL (rendering)
You probably have heard already that the British car manufacturer Land Rover is taking into consideration a fourth model in the Range Rover lineup, but now a new report has surfaced the Internet indicating the company is thinking about whether to give the car the green light for production of not.
We don’t have many details about this new model, but rumors say that it is going to be an extended-length version of the Evoque, which will be up to 11.8 inches (300 mm) longer and 3.9 inches (100 mm) taller in comparison to the standard model, which will certainly provide a more spacious interior cabin and a possible 7-seat configuration.
Most likely, the engines will remain pretty much the same, which means that the Evoque XL will be powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 237 hp (240 PS / 177 kW) along with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel power plant that generates 148 hp (150 PS / 110 kW) and 187 hp (190 PS / 140 kW).

The car you see in this video is a Range Rover Spirito DiVino, an SUV that comes with an embedded wine bar. It was presented last weekend at the Verona Vinitaly 2011 and is based on the Vogue SE model. Not like it matters, but the engine is a V8 4.4 TD that produces 309 hp (313 PS / 230 kW). What matters are the two refrigerator cabinets that have been installed in the rear cargo compartment and can store up to 12 bottles of wine.
To keep the wine cool, the refrigerator unit can be recharged through a dedicated solar panel or by a regular power cord plugged into an external outlet. Also available is a set of glasses and that exterior paintwork that stays with the wine theme thanks to the appropriate wine-colored body.
The Range Rover Spirito DiVino has been developed by Land Rover Italia, Aznom in partnership with the publication Spirito DiVino.
PS: I remember seeing something familiar on an old episode of Top Gear. That car was also a Range Rover. Anyway, the idea behind this SUV is ridiculous.

The British automaker Land Rover has revealed all the pricing information of its new and sleek Range Rover Evoque model, probably the only SUV/crossover that I really like, besides the Mercedes ML-Class. The car will be offered with a choice of three power units, two body styles, three design themes, along with a bundle of accessories and options. The most affordable model will be the 5-door eD4 Pure, fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 2WD, which will set you back at least 27,955 pounds. The 3-door version that has the same engine has a base price of 28,950 pounds.

The aftermarket specialists at Arden have unveiled this week their new tuning program for the sleek Range Rover Evoque. Dubbed AR8 City-Roader, the upgrade package consists of a small power increase and some mild updated aesthetic changes.
The model fitted with the 2.0-liter gasoline engine has been tuned to provide270 hp, which is 30 hp more than the standard version. This extra oomph under the bonnet was possible thanks to the installation of a bespoke sport exhaust system that works in conjunction with a high performance catalyst.
Design-wise, it features updated front and rear aprons, illuminated side skirts and a new set of Dakar II wheels, along with a stainless steel plaque that can be engraved with anything the customer wants. In addition, the Evoque can be fitted with a new multimedia sound system offered through Arden’s E-Solutions program.

Merdad Range Rover Sport
The British tuners from Merdad have rolled out a lot of tuning packages for the Range Rover Sport and their latest one offers several upgrades both inside and outside of this SUV. Let’s start with the inside where you’ll find two seats with a middle console on the rear, as opposed to the standard three-seat layout in the back. The car has been fitted with a newly designed steering wheel, door entrance panels, racing dials and new racing pedals.
For the exterior, Merdad added new front and rear bumper conversions, updated the front and two side grilles, installed a wider wheel arches, a new hood with air vents; bigger side skirts and a custom-made quad exhaust system. In addition, they also offer two sets of 22-inch rims; the first one features alloy forged lightweight racing rims while the second variant is a set of forged three-piece five-spoke concave wheels that were designed and made in Japan, exclusively for Merdad.

Who doesn’t want to buy a prestige car like a Jaguar, a BMW, a Mercedes or a Ferrari? It’s the dream of every person to have one of these “beauties” in his garage. Even if these cars are more expensive than the regular ones and need extra money to repair and maintain, the luxury features such as cruise control, leather interior or sound technology, which provide you the comfort you need, are all worth the extra money.
Sometimes, these cars represent the wealth and the welfare of the people who own them. So, if you fell that a prestige car is the one for you should take a look at my options. These options are among the most desired cars on Earth, man made.
Who didn’t see the Bond movies and the car drove by him, the amazing Aston Martin? This car has a history and it is the finest prestige car on the market. It’s made by the best automobile engineers in the field. Their mission is to make cars which combine “power, beauty and soul” and they manage to do that every time. The list of Aston Martin cars is long, so you can choose taking into account how much money do you want to spend. So you can buy a 2009 Aston Martin Vantage Silver or a 2010 4 doors Aston Martin Rapide.
Another prestige car is the Bentley, which is the most exquisite car of all. It represents style and pure comfort on wheels and every time you drive one of these cars you must know that everybody will turn the head and admire its elegance. There are a lot of models from which to pick and choose, starting with the Bentley Continental Mulliner 6.0 V12 and going back to some other older models.
The most stylish and exquisite saloon car is the Jaguar. The words which describe it are beauty, power and elegance. So, you can buy the most recent models on the market, such as the 2010 Jaguar XJ Series Diesel or the Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel Portfolio 2011.
I think that everybody love the cars made by Ferrari. This brand is the symbol of performance and because of that all the people like the “Prancing Horse”. I think that you will agree that Ferrari is the winner when it comes to style. Choose the model you want: even if it is a 2008 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano or a 1997 Ferrari F50 Ferrari Classiche, people’s reaction will be the same and that beauty will always get the highest wow factor.
But if you want a 4×4 car, you must buy the most exquisite one and that’s the Land Rover. This car is the more secure and safe car you can drive in your town or on off-road terrain. The list of Land Rovers is wide and can satisfy all tastes. You can buy a 2011 Land Rover Discovery Diesel or a 51 Land Rover Freelander depending on your finances.
These are the winners when it comes to prestige, but you can enjoy luxury even on a smaller budget. Nowadays, many of the mass-production manufactures have included the extra luxury items in their car production. That’s why you will be able to afford a Ford Fiesta equipped with reversing cameras or a Sony DAB radio.
If you want to fulfill a dream you must invest time and money, but every penny will seem well spent in the end.

Amari Design Range Rover Sport 2010 Windsor Edition
Amari Design Range Rover Sport 2010 Windsor Edition
At the beginning of this month, Amari Design revealed the beautiful Lamborghini Gallardo Invidia Edition and now they’ve launched another project, based on the Range Rover Sport. The British luxury car dealer is at its second conversion kit for this SUV and this one has some important changes.
First of all, the front bumper has been updated with DRL’s while the rear one has been redesigned. The car also has new wide wheel arches, a roof spoiler, door moldings, carbon side vents, carbon front grill, a rear diffuser (made either from ABS plastic or carbon fiber), new exhaust tips and a carbon hood. This conversion is also available in a non-wide version for more conservative customers.

They also created their own line of forged rims, starting with the three-face designs on three different wheel concepts: monoblock, two piece and deep concave. In these pictures you see the AD1 deep concave model.
This Windsor Edition of the Range Rover Sport has an engine that outputs 611 hp (620 PS / 456 kW) which is a healthy 108 hp (110 PS / 81 kW) increase over the standard 503 hp (510 PS / 375 kW) available for the production model.

2011 Arden Range Rover AR 7 Highlander
Yesterday we’ve talked about the most luxurious Range Rover ever made. Today we look at Arden’s version of the Range Rover, dubbed AR 7 Highlander. The German engineers over at Arden became popular for rolling out some interesting tuning programs for the Land Rover models. The last one offers both exterior and interior updates, along with a 50 hp power increase.
2011 Arden Range Rover AR 7 Highlander
Design-wise, it has a new wide body aerodynamic package that includes a redesigned front fascia (which isn’t very appropriate for the car in my opinion), side skirts, rear aprons, fender flares and hand-made stainless steel grilles.
To get that 50 hp increase, the engineers at Arden fitted the Range Rover with a new stainless steel sport exhaust system. The SUV also got an electronic suspension module which will work in tandem with the new 22-inch Arden Dakar II light alloy rims. The AR7 Highlander offers a high-performance brake system to match the increased power.
2011 Arden Range Rover AR 7 Highlander
As far as the cabin is concerned, the car benefits from a new center console that has a mini-bar and is wrapped in the finest materials available today. The bar has a cooling unit that has a low power consumption. How low? Even if you stop the vehicle it will be able to maintain a constant temperature.
We’ll let you know once they announce the price list for this tuned Range Rover.

Welcome back to the third and final part of our extensive article about the most important cars that will delight us at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. Let’s start with Land Rover and their Range Rover Evoque.
The car will be available in 2-door and 4-door variants, both of them featuring the same engine, which will be a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged that outputs 240 hp, linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Evoque will come with an all-wheel drive system as well as the company’s new Terrain Response System.
One of my personal favorites, Lexus, will bring the CT 200h which is a 4-door / 5-passenger hybrid hatchback, featuring a conventional 4-cylinder 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a battery-powered electric motor, both of them offering a combined power of 134 hp. The new C200h will use a CVT – Continuously Variable Transmission and can run on one or both of the power sources (without having to charge it).
Mercedes will be heading out to Chicago where they will have three new production models: the beautiful 2012 SLK, the 2012 CLS and the 2012 C-Class. We’ve talked about the SLK on rpmGO.com before; it will be available in two variants: the SLK250 and the SLK350. The entry-level model will be fitted with a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter that outputs 201 hp, linked to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The SLK350 is going to have a more powerful V6 3.5-liter engine, good for 302 hp. This model will be available with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The CLS will be available in two models: CLS550 and the AMG CLS63. The first one has a V8 4.7-liter turbocharged engine that outputs 402 hp while the other comes with a V8 5.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 518 hp. The CLS550 has a 7-speed automatic gearbox while the CLS630 AMG will get a 7-speed automated manual gearbox.
The 2012 C250 will be offered in two trim levels: Luxury and Sport, both of them featuring a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter unit that churns 201 hp. The C300 will have the same trim levels, but it will be equipped with a V6 3.0-liter engine, good for 228 hp. The C350 will have the same engine, but this time it will output 302 hp. The high-end model will be the AMG version C63 which will most likely come with a V8 6.2-liter that outputs 451 hp.
Mini will be bringing their 2011 Countryman, which will be the first four full-sized doors Mini model sold in the United States. The car will be available in two trim levels: Base and S. The entry-level will get a 4-cylinder 1.6-engine that churns 120 hp while the high-end variant will feature a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter that produces 180 hp. Both of the models will get front-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Mitsubishi will show us their Outlander Sport model which will be available in two trim levels: ES and SE. Both of the versions will pack a front-wheel drive system and a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter that outputs 148 hp. The ES will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the SE will get a CVT transmission and steering-wheel paddles for manual changing.
Another Japanese automaker that will be heading out to Chicago this year will be Nissan with three models: the award-winning Leaf, the funky Juke and the sporty 2012 GT-R. We talked about the Leaf thousands of times, but here is a small presentation. The car will be available with two trims levels – SV and SL. Both of them will have the same lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor that outputs 107 hp. It can be charged at either a 110-volt or a 220-volt outlet. For the first type it will need 20 hours while for the second type it will need only 8 hours.
The guys over at Porsche will be bringing their 2012 Cayman R. This two-seater sports coupe will come with the third and newest trim, dubbed “R”. Unlike the entry-level trim or the S mode, the R has a 6-cylinder 3.4-liter power unit that outputs 330 hp, linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. It is also available with an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox.
If you can’t afford the Aston Martin Cygnet, the next best thing is the Scion iQ. Featuring a 4-cylinder 1.3-liter engine that outputs 90 hp, this certainly won’t be the most powerful car at the Chicago Auto Show.
Scion will also be bringing the 2011 tC 2-door hatchback coupe which will be fitted with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder power unit that cranks up 180 hp, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Scion will not be going to Chicago without its parent company Toyota. Despite the fact that the Japanese automaker is the largest manufacturer in the world, they will be bringing only one model here (one that they already took to Detroit) – 2012 Prius v. The heart of the car will be a conventional 1.8-liter gasoline engine which will be paired with a battery-powered electric motor. The combined power will be 134 hp.
The German automaker Volkswagen will be heading out to Chicago with the recently-launched 2012 Passat and the 2012 Eos. Presented first at Detroit, the Passat will be available in three different trim levels: S, SE and SEL. Engine options include the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter unit with 140 hp, 5-cylinder 2.5-liter with 170 hp and the high-end V6 3.6-liter with 280 ponies. The diesels will be available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automated-manual gearbox. The 5-cylinder 2.5-liter will get either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The V6 engine will be fitted with a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox.
The EOS will come with a power-retractable hardtop with an integrated sunroof. Under the hood it will feature a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter that produces 200 hp, mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automated-manual transmission.
Sweden will be represented at Chicago by Volvo with their sexy 2011 S60 model. This premium-midsize car will benefit from a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that will produce 300 hp and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. At first, the car will be available in one single trim level, the T6. Later on this year, the Swedish automaker will be introducing the T6 R-Design which should be a real looker.
These are the most important cars that will be presented at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. Some of them you might have already seen while others are a premiere (not many unfortunately). From February 9th to February 20th, the automotive capital of the world will be Chicago. Next month we will have another important auto show to review at Geneva. Stay tuned for a comprehensive coverage.
PS: Part 1 and 2 of the article are here and here. Enjoy the reading.
