Lexus has taken to the trend of 3D billboards and has gone all the way with promoting their new hybrid, the Lexus. The car maker turned Los Angeles landmark, Hotel Roosvelt, intro a display of all things celebrating the bond between cars and the Earth we live on. Although this relationship may not always be perfect, it’s still something worth materializing into an entertaining piece of 3D projection.

I have to say that this is one of the best 3D building projections I’ve seen. The Lexus CT 200h was presented in the best way possible. From the script to all the tiny details, it’s something memorable. Hit play and check it out!

Lexus CT 200h Arrives In The UK

Lexus CT 200h

Designed for the European market, the new Lexus CT200h hatchback is now available in the UK .It has a base price of 23,485 pounds, which is 1,380 less in comparison to the most affordable Lexus model available in the United Kingdom, the IS200d, a model that packs a 2.2-liter turbo diesel power unit that cranks out 150 hp.

Getting back to the CT 200h, it is powered by a 1.8-liter gasoline engine that works with an electric motor, a high-performance battery and a generator. This hybrid powertrain develops a combined power of 134 hp, enabling the CT 200h to do the 0-60 mph sprint in 10.3, before hitting a top speed of 112 mph (181 km/h). According to the Japanese automaker, it can do 57.4 mpg (4.1 liters / 100 km) – I really doubt that, and has CO2 emissions of 94 g/km.

Well, it seems like Lexus is relying on beautiful women to take its message into the world. The new advertising platform from the Japanese car maker is called “Face of Lexus” and the first ad features the beautiful Kylie Minogue.

Lexus boasts with building the world’s first full hybrid luxury compact car and invites us to “join the quiet revolution”. the new CT 200h is supposed to be your own quiet cocoon, right there, in the middle of traffic insanity, where you can breathe and relax for a few minutes. Lexus CT 200h gets detailed before its worldwide launch

Toyota’s upmarket Lexus brand is aiming for the compact segment with the recently revealed CT 200h hatchback.

Built on top of the Prius platform and its hybrid synergy drive technology, the Lexus CT 200h promises to deliver a more premium experience for those that still want to save the planet by driving a hybrid.

Now, after seeing it at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of the year, the CT 200h has been further detailed ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

The final output is rated at 134 HP, but the 1.8-liter gasoline engine is capable of 98 HP while the electric motor can output as much as 80 HP. Even with this pretty potent power rating, 0 to 62 is achieved in 9.8 seconds.

The car has been specifically tuned for improved efficiency, meaning low rolling resistance tires, a special suspension and a hood and tailgate made from aluminum to keep weight down were fitted. All of these things enable an EPA-rated fuel estimate of 42 mpg.

You will be able to enjoy a custom interior, and the car will let you choose two driving ‘moods’ Dynamic or Relaxing, and four modes: EV, ECO, Normal and Sport.

More details are set to be unveiled in Paris. The Lexus CT 200h hybrid hatchback will be launched around the world in the following months.

Lexus confirms US release of CT 200h hybrid hatch, brings it to New York

At the beginning of the month, Japanese carmaker Lexus revealed the CT 200h hybrid hatchback model. The car was specifically aimed at the European premium hatchback market, and through it, Lexus wants to establish a bigger presence in the old continent.

But the CT 200h won’t be just for Europe, as Lexus has confirmed that it will be released globally, including in North America. This is pretty important, as hatchback models aren’t exactly popular in the USA. Nonetheless, the Japanese company will debut the hybrid hatch at the end of the month, at the New York Auto Show.

For those of you who don’t remember, the Lexus CT 200h has basically the same setup as the Toyota Prius, using a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine, coupled with two electric motors by a Continuously Variable Transmission.

No fuel estimates have been released, but you can be sure that it will give the frugal Audi A3 TDI, currently the 2010 Green Car of the Year, a run for its money. Stay tuned for more details on March 31, when the NY Auto Show begins.

Lexus formally unveils CT 200h hybrid hatchback

After a brochure leak last week, Lexus finally decided to showcase its newest model, the CT 200h hybrid hatchback. The car will be shown off at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, and will be launched globally later this year.

As you can see, its design is inspired from the LF-Ch concept model the company revealed last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but the appearance has been toned down. In terms of interior design, the same Lexus quality is present, while the dash was split into two zones, the upper one, dominated by the 8-inch LCD screen, and the lower one, dedicated to all of the other functions.

As much as the leaked brochure promised a new type of performance, the inner workings of the CT 200h are basically the same as with the Toyota Prius, using the 1.8-liter VVT-i gasoline engine coupled with an electric motor through the Hybrid Synergy Drive system and a continuously variable transmission.

This setup allows the CT 200h to run for 1.2 miles in pure EV mode and up to 28 mph. Dedicated Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes are offered. Expect more details and perhaps a price and a concrete release date at the Geneva Motor Show or in the next few months. Until then, check out the photo gallery below.

Lexus CT 200h details leaked before its Geneva reveal

Many Lexus fans were extremely excited about the LF-Ch concept the Japanese company showed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Luckily for them, it seems they don’t have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show to get a glimpse of the production model, as it was leaked through brochure.

The new model, dubbed the Lexus CT 200h, looks pretty good from the pics included in the brochure, retaining much of the style from its concept phase. The model remains a five-door hatchback, a body style extremely popular in Europe.

What’s more important is that the future hybrid hatchback will use a 1.8-liter gasoline engine coupled with an electric motor, both delivering undisclosed amounts of power, through an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). The motor will draw its power from a nickel-metal hydride battery, which will sit in the back.

Three driving models are offered with the new Lexus CT 200h, Eco, Normal and Sport, with the latter, according to the brochure, offering “superior handling ability”. Sadly, no other details about power figures or top speed has been given, so we’re left guessing.

Overall, the Lexus CT 200h is looking extremely good. Let’s hope its reveal next week will clear some things out. Until then, what do you believe about this new Japanese hybrid?
