The Mercedes GL Grand Edition is the last variant of the current generation and will have a base price in Germany of 80,206 Euros, including VAT.

This special edition comes with a new design of the front fascia that features a more prominent grille, LED daytime running lights and tinted headlights. It rides on a new set of 20-inch alloy rims that you will not find on other models, along with aluminum running boards and the appropriate badging. Inside the cabin we find a black ash trim, 2-tone leather seats and the stainless steel pedals.

Customers will be able to choose from one of the four power units that are going to be available. The 350 BlueTEC model will feature an engine that delivers 208 hp (211 PS / 155 kW) and 398 lb.-ft (540 Nm) of torque. The 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY comes with a power unit that produces 262 hp (265 PS / 195 kW) and a peak torque of 457 lb.-ft (620 Nm).

If you prefer gasoline engines, you’ll be able to pick the V8 4.6-liter that cranks out 335 hp (340 PS / 250 kW) and 339 lb.-ft (460 Nm) of torque; or the more powerful V8 5.5-liter that delivers 382 hp (388 PS / 285 kW) and has a peak torque of 391 lb.-ft (530 Nm).

VW Transporter Sportline Arrives In UK

VW Transporter Sportline

The German automaker Volkswagen has launched at the beginning of this week a special edition of the Transporter, dubbed “Sportline”. Available only in the United Kingdom, this special T5 is available in both the panel van and kombi variants and also with a SWB or a LWB version. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter BiTDI diesel engine that produces 178 hp (180 PS / 132 kW), mated to either the standard 6-speed manual gearbox or the optional 7-speed DSG transmission.

The Transporter Sportline is offered with a gloss black grille that features chrome trimming, along with an updated design of the headlights and an all-new front bumper that comes with integrated fog lights and has the same color as the rest of the body. The model has also been fitted with a rear roof spoiler, smoked taillights and polished stainless steel bars. In addition, the car rides on 5-spoke 18-inch Sportline rims.

Customers can choose from one of the three exterior colors available: Reflex Silver, Deep Black pearlescent or a Candy White that comes with an optional black-painted gloss roof.

Inside, we find the bespoke 2-tone leather upholstery, Bluetooth and a generous 7-inch touchscreen with GPS.

The Volkswagen Transporter Sportline costs from 28,220 pounds (excluding VAT) for the panel version and 30,100 pounds (excluding VAT) for the kombi model.

UK Gets Special Edition Nissan 370Z GT

If you live in the United Kingdom, you should know that Nissan has a special edition of its 370Z GT for you. This limited edition will be built in order to celebrate the model’s 40th anniversary and will come with a choice of three colors: Black Rose, Kuro Black and Pearl White. It will also sport anthracite-finished 19-inch alloy rims and exterior body stripes to distinguish it from the standard model.

Nissan also throws in GPS navigation, rear view camera, along with a retuned suspension with modified dampers, which according to the Japanese company will be able to “provide the ideal balance between ride comfort and high-speed handling.”

No changes in the engine compartment so expect to see a V6 3.7-liter unit that delivers 324 hp (328 PS / 241 kW) and a peak torque of 268 lb.-ft (363 Nm), enabling the car to do the 0-60 mph sprint in 5.3 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The Nissan 370Z GT special edition will hit the dealerships on June 1st and will have a base price of 35,000 pounds.

Renault Launches Scenic 15th Special Edition

The first generation of the Renault Scenic was launched in 1996 and the French automaker has decided to celebrate its 15th birthday by launching this special edition which is based on the Expression trim package. The model comes with a panoramic sunroof, tinted rear windows, dark metal exterior accents and sits on a new set of 16-inch alloy rims.

As far as the cabin is concerned, Renault’s designers added “Pleven” upholstery and they’ve wrapped around in leather the Scenic’s steering wheel. Other goodies include the TomTom navigation system that provides real time traffic information, along with an electronic parking brake.

Hyundai has teamed up with the famous Italian fashion label Prada for this limited edition Genesis Prada which will be available in South Korea, but a “small number” of the 1,200 units will go to China and the Middle East.

The Genesis Prada was designed in order to be one of the most luxurious models ever made by Hyundai and will be available in three colors for the exterior: Brown Moro, Blue Baltico and Black Nero. It features a “shark-fin” antenna, bespoke 19-inch alloy rims and dark chrome accents. For the interior, they opted for“Saffiano” leather upholstery, a rear seat entertainment system and a piano black trim.

The car is powered by a V8 5.0-liter engine that delivers 424 hp (430 PS / 316 kW) and a peak torque of 376 lb.-ft (510 Nm). If you live in South Africa, you should know that Dodge has a special edition of its unpopular Caliber model. Dubbed “Mopar Edition”, it was created in order to “satisfy the boy racer in all of us” and comes with a new design for the bonnet, 18-inch alloy rims and a lowered suspension.

The car is powered by a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine that features a cold-air induction system, along with a dual exhaust. No word about the performances of the car, but we do know that in its standard configuration, the power unit generates 154 hp (156 PS / 115 kW) and has a peak torque of 140 lb.-ft (190 Nm).

The Mercedes G-Class has received two new flavors courtesy of a couple of special editions. The long-wheelbase version is now available with an Edition Select trim package that costs 6,735 Euros. It offers a two-tone paint scheme, black 18-inch alloy rims and an AMG sports exhaust. The cabin features a piano black wood trim and a two-tone design for the leather upholstery.

The BA3 Final Edition marks the ending of the short-wheelbase version, featuring an AMG grille, body-color fender flares and 18-inch wheels. The cabin gets ambient lightning, black leather seats and a burr walnut trim.

Customers are able to choose from one of the two engines available. The G 350 BlueTEC features a 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 208 hp (211 PS / 155 kW) and a peak torque of 398 lb.-ft (540 Nm). The more powerful G 500 sports a V8 5.5-liter gasoline engine that cranks out 382 hp (388 PS / 285 kW) and a 391 lb.-ft (530 Nm) torque.

In its homeland, the G 350 BlueTEC BA3 Final Edition has a base price of 90,511, while the G 500 is available starting from 100,685 Euros, including VAT.

Bugatti Veyron Gets Two New Flavors

Bugatti revealed in Shanghai this week two new editions of its epic Veyron model. The first one is in fact a one-off Grand Sport that comes with a matte white exterior look with blue carbon fiber accents. The latter color pattern can be found inside the cabin as it was used on just about everything.

As a reminder, the Veyron Grand Sport is powered by a huge W16 quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter engine that produces a whopping 987 hp (1,001 PS / 736 kW) and 922 lb.-ft (1,250 Nm) of torque. With so much power available, the GS can hit an electronically limited top speed of 253 mph (407 km/h) and 224 mph (360 km/h) with the roof off.

The other special edition, the Super Sport, features an all carbon fiber look that looks simply amazing. The interior cabin is airy and light, sporting carbon fiber trim and two-tone leather upholstery.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport still is the fastest supercar in the world, managing to hit a limited top speed of 258 mph (415 km/h), thanks to its 1,183 hp (1,200 PS / 882 kW) engine that has a peak torque of 1,106 lb.-ft (1,500 Nm).

Audi Working On Expensive Q7 & R8 Special Editions

Audi Q7 V12 TDI

More and more special/limited editions are invading the automotive market and it is understandable taking into consideration the popularity of these models, translated into big profits for car manufacturers. Audi is not an exception to this rule and they are working on two special editions of the Q7 and the sexy R8.

Let’s start with the SUV. It will be based on the V12 TDI version and will come with a two-tone exterior color (Phantom Black + Black Velvet). Only available for the Russian market, it will have a price tag of $285,000 and they’re going to make 555 units. Sales should commence this May.

Also in the works is the R8 V10 “Pure Sport” that the German automaker will offer only in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Set to go on sale this June, they’ll make only 40 units, all will have a price tag of $136,000.

In 2010, Audi launched a Black & White limited edition of the TT in China, managing to sell 450 units for a price of $78,000.
