FortuneSport: Supercar ‘to go’

What if you will be able to place an order for your future car, just like you order for your happy meal? It would be nice, isn’t it? The new FortuneSport car, developed in cooperation with Panoz, will soon make its debut on the market. The new exclusive car (its production will be limited to only 60 units) will be offered in two versions: Rt.R racing version and Rt.S street version.

The Rt.R will weight only 750kg and will be powered by a 6.0 liter V8 developing 510HP and it is expected to reach a top speed of 280 km/h (173 mph) and will speed up to 100km/h (62 mph) in about 3 seconds. All these will cost $300,000, of which $200,000 represents the advance payment order. After you place your order, the car will be built according to the size and customer preferences and will be assembled in 3 weeks.

Rt.S version, which will debut in 2010, will be less radical, the engine will develop only 360 HP and the speeding from 0 to 100km/h will be done in 3.7 seconds. Rt.S will be cheaper, customers having to pay only $85,000 for the exclusive model with two seats and the chassis made from composite material and aluminum.

800 hp Phoenix GT/Uirapuru super car

The Uirapuru, also known as the Brasinca 4200 GT, is a 60s sports car that has a very interesting history. Created in 1964 by Rigoberto Soler, the car was produced in only 76 units, which makes it a very rare car. Also, rumors say that its design inspired the famous Jensen Interceptor. Its name, Uirapuru, comes from a very rare Amazonian bird whose song is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world.

Now, after more than 40 years, looks like some one wants to bring the Uirapuru back. And that someone is André Soler (no blood connection to Rigoberto Soler, the creator of the original Uirapuru), who partnered with GT Racers and tries to create a new, modern super car. However, like every small producer, the main problems are the financial one. Though some negotiations were taken with some Arab investors, they couldn’t agree on the terms of the cooperation so now the car’s development is pretty slow, not even reaching the prototype stage.

When it will be produced, the prototype will be 3,93 m long, 1,90 m wide and 1,17 m high, with a wheelbase of 2,73 m and it will be powered by a Judd GV5 Sports Racing V8 engine, that generates over 600 hp when running until 7,800 rpm and more that 800 hp when running at up to 10,000 rpm. Besides that, the creators are also thinking of creating the Uirapuru with a GM 3.6 liter V6 Alloytec engine.

Overall, a very interesting concept and we’ll keep you update once we get more info on the Uirapuru. Meanwhile, check out more renderings of the car after the jump.

1018 hp Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition

Earlier this year, Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg announced that it will produce an environmental-friendly supercar, and when they say supercar, they mean it. The Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition will be powered by a 4.7 liter turbocharged V8 engine, running on E85 biofuel, which develops a whooping 1,018 hp at 7,200 rpm and 1,060 Nm of torque at 6,100 rpm.

And, as expected, its performance numbers are also incredible: 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and a top speed over 250 mph (400 km/h), while its fuel consumption will be 22l/100km or 10.7 mpg. Priced at 1.5 million Euro (that’s $2.2 million) the Koenigsegg CCXR is quite a lot more expensive than the more stylish Bugatti Veyron, which currently is the best serial production supercar out there and, to be honest, I never digged these racecar-type supercars, so I would definitely go for the Veyron. Fortunately, I don’t have to make this choice (yet!). What do you think? Would you go for the Koenigsegg? Leave your opinion here.

Farbio GTS supercar announced

British carmaker Farbio announced that it’ll start the production of the Farbio GTS. Produced at Farbio’s facility in Bath (South West of England) the car has a carbon fibre body and space framed chassis. There will be two engine choices, the first one, a 262 hp version that sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 4.8 seconds and a more powerful 384 hp supercharged version that goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Suspension is fully adjustable dampers with Eibach coil-over springs to give the car an exciting, precise driving experience – a feature omitted from many modern day sports cars.

GTS customers will be able to tour in comfort with the spacious, ergonomic interior, with fully adjustable Sparco reclining seats allowing for a 6’6” driver. The controls have an easy accessibility with the touch-screen featuring satellite navigation, air conditioning and sound system as standard.

The Farbio GTS starting price will be £59,925 ($120,330 or 85,552 Euros) for the basic version and £71,675 ($143,923 or 102,327 Euros) for the Supercharged version. View a photo gallery.

1 million Euro Lamborghini Reventon

With the Frankfurt Motor Show almost here, Lamborghini is preparing something special. What we’re talking about is the Lamborghini Reventon(yeah, we know, weird name for a Lambo, but it seems this is how they’ll call it) which was developed starting from the Murcielago LP640 and its design was inspired by jet fighters. And if the Bugatti Veyron, which is its only competitor has a hp-meter, the Reventon has a G-force gauge, which indicates how many Gs your body is taking.

Now the bad news is that the Lamborghini Reventon will cost 1 million Euros. Yes, you read correctly, 1 million Euro. That’s about $1.4 million. But the good news is that you don’t have to worry about not having that money, because all 20 units which will be produced are already sold. More pics after the jump.

Aston Martin Rapide and DBX to complete dream-team

Only good news came recently from Aston Martin. I have to admit I’ve always been a fan of the British producer, because I always thought that is has more style and it had “that something” that Ferrari or Lamborghini never had. So I’m probably not being subjective at all, but I don’t care, I love these cars. So, let’s get back to what made me happy today. Aston Martin’s CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez announced that after next year’s launch of recently presented DBS, Aston Martin will focus on the development of the highly anticipated 4-doors coupe, the Rapide. Scheduled to be launched in 2010, the car will probably cost around $400,000.

And you thought that’s all? No, no, no. After the DBS launch, the British producer will also start working on the DBX project, which will be the company’s new flagship. Dr. Bez said that the new car, which will probably be the successor of the Vanquish coupe, will arrive only after the Rapide and will probably cost even more.

530HP Audi R8 by Abt Sportsline

These tuner guys are maniacs. Some of us still haven’t seen some of the cars on the street or in a showroom and tuned up version are launched. However, the latest example, the recently launched Audi R8 is special. Why is that? Well, this new version, modified by Abt Sportsline has all chances to become a super car. Again, you might ask why? Because the Abt R8 will have a distinctive body kit, parts of which are fashioned from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic, aggressive bumpers, new hood, widened air ducts behind the doors, a prominent fixed spoiler at the rear, and towering 20-inch wheels in Abt’s signature five-spoke design.

Enough? You might say yes…we did. But nooo, Abt said the standard 4.2-liter V8 engine 420 hp engine is not good enough, they supercharged it and they claim it will deliver 530 hp, take the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and to a top speed of 317 km/h. That’s something. (more…)

2008 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG

Mercedes announced another addition to the AMG range, introducing the Mercedes CL65 AMG. This new the exclusive high-performance coupe from the german factory tuner will be powered by a powerful AMG engine, a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo, similiar with S65 AMG and SL65 AMG twelve-cylinder engine models. Its maximum output of 612 bhp is reflected in its outstanding performance data: the CL65 AMG attains 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and reaches the 200 km/h mark in 13.3 seconds. Its maximum speed of 250 km/h is electronically limited.

The optical package for this super car is also impressing, giving the car a powerful, elegant and dynamic design. Sports exhaust with two twin chromed V12-design tailpipes, titanium gray 20-inch AMG twin-spoke forged wheels, large air intakes, round fog lamps with chrome surrounds the special AMG radiator grille with two horizontal chrome louvers, distinctive side skirts and “V12 BITURBO” lettering enhance the sides.

Mercedes is also preparing a special CL65 AMG limited edition to mark the 40 years passed since Mercedes and AMG started working together. It will have a new type of paint, AMG Alubeam, a unique paint finish which has previously only been seen on a handful of Mercedes show cars, two-tone all-Nappa-leather upholstery with a diamond pattern, a color-coordinated Alcantara roof lining and embossed V12 logos on the front head restraints.
