Scary V8 Supercar Crash At Barbagallo

Yesterday during the Australian V8 Supercar series at Barbagallo a pretty scare accident occurred, before even the first corner. Karl Reindler in his Holden Commodore stalled after the green flag was waved and he was rammed behind by driver Steve Owen. The latter already had reached to almost 95 mph when he hit Karl.

The impact was so powerful that Reindler’s car burst into flames, sending both vehicles into the infield. The good news is that Karl managed to escape with only a couple of minor burns on his face and hands. Owen wasn’t injured at all, but the officials of the race sent him to the medical center after the driver complained of soreness.

Only in China – Driving Two Bumper Cars In Hectic City Traffic

This is probably the first person in the world who had committed a DWD (Driving While Driving) felony. How is that possible you ask? Well, if you think that the bumper cars you see in this short video were somehow chained together, you’re wrong. The driver (aka “Mr Zhang”) straddled the two bumper cars with one foot on each acceleration pedal and one hand on each wheel. Talk about multi-tasking!

The police caught Mr Zhang, but he was only let off with a warning because there are no laws specifying that you are not able to drive two bumper cars simultaneously.

Ouch! Audi RS5 Safety Car Causes Serious Crash At Le Mans Race In France

Not a good way to advertise a car, for sure. During the Le Mans series race in France, the Audi RS5 safety car caused a massive pile-up crash at the Paul Richard High Tech Test Track last weekend. Why? Because it didn’t pull off the track after a green light.

Jimmy Keeney Flips His Subaru WRX

Last weekend at the inaugural Global RallyCross Championship, Marcus Gronholm managed to win both races, but people talked more about Kenney’s accident rather than Gronholm’s success. Kenney was behind Hyundai driver Marcus Dodd and he wanted to win back the lost ground. However, his 70-foot jump didn’t turn out to be as he hoped and the result you can see for yourselves.

Morons And Porsche Cayennes Don’t Go Well Together

This is the perfect example of why morons shouldn’t be able to drive a car. This guy in the video got stuck in mud (God knows what he was doing there) and at first a truck tried to pull that blacked German SUV, but for some reason the owner of the car decides to do it by himself. In his attempt to get out of the mud, one of the Cayenne’s wheels explodes, activating the airbags and causing some significant damage to the car.

BMW’s Plant Zero – Where The Secret Prototypes Come From

This week BMW uploaded a video where they show us their Experimental Vehicle Shop (Plant Zero), located somewhere amongst the array of buildings at the company’s Research and Innovation Center in Munich, Germany. In this video you can see where first-off prototypes are built and assembled by hand.

Those so-called “zero” prototypes are made from a solid block of aluminum and the entire development process is not meant to create the best car available, but also devise the most efficient and accurate methods to produce the car on the company’s  assembly lines – all highly robotized and digitized.

In this video appears a secret prototype for what will probably be a future vehicle but the image is blurred so we cannot make out what it is – this is what I call a proper teaser. In addition, we also see an X6 prototype and find out why BMW enjoys using that swirling white-on-black camouflage over black plastic and metal body panels.

Pretty interesting stuff if you ask me. But I do hope that the production version of that X6 prototype will look better than the current generation of the model which is simply outrageous, in a bad way of course.
