The new Volkswagen Passat Blue Motion was unveiled in September last year during the Paris Motor Show, and now the German automaker has released the final specifications of this model. It can be ordered in sedan or estate variants, and features a 1.6-liter TDI power unit that delivers 103 hp (105 PS / 77 kW) and a peak torque of 184 lb.-ft (250 Nm).
With this engine, the sedan version can do the 0-60 mph sprint in 12.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 198 km/h. The estate model is a little bit slower, as it can reach a top speed of 196 km/h, while the 0-60 mph sprint time remains the same.
This car wasn’t designed to be fast, as it is aimed for those looking to get a fuel-efficient vehicle, and the VW Passat BlueMotion is, as it manages to average 4.1 liters / 100 km and has CO2 emissions of 109 g/km, for the sedan version. The wagon achieves 4.3 liters / 100 km and 113 g/km. These impressive figures have been achieved thanks to the start/stop system, along with the better aerodynamics and the lowered ride height.
In Germany, the price starts from 26,450 Euros and is already available.
