2012 Chevrolet Impala Revealed – rpmGo.com

2012 Chevrolet Impala

One of the most popular cars among rental fleets is without any doubt the Chevrolet Impala. Back for a new generation, it looks like a car from the 90s. It must be one of the mod outdated designs (both inside and outside) that I have ever seen. The new additions to this “fresh” model revolve around the engine area where Chevrolet has installed a new V6 3.5-liter engine that produces only 230 hp.

They also upgraded the gearbox of the car, putting to sleep the archaic 4-speed slushbox and installing a more modern 6-speed automatic unit. These new additions will probably improve the fuel efficiency numbers but we won’t know for sure until the EPA rating is out.

Design-wise, one of the somewhat noticeable differences in comparison to the current model is the chrome mesh that adorns the grille and the fog-light housings, similar to the one on the Malibu. The entry-level model rides on 16-inch aluminum rims. Inside the cabin, nothing new on the horizon, although you do get Bluetooth on all models and for those destined for fleets is optional.
