2012 Porsche 911 Spied, Again Rpmgo.com

Yet another spy video of the forthcoming 2012 Porsche 911 has surfaced the Internet this week. The new model will change substantially in its dimensions as it will be 56 mm longer and will have a total length of 4.49 meters.

The width will remain just about the same, but the next Carrera model will get a 60 mm wider read body. The 911’s rear axle has been completely reworked, along with a revision of the power units. In addition, the new model will be 20 kg less heavy than the outgoing generation.

The entry-level 911 will be fitted with a Boxer 3.4-liter engine that will develop 345 hp (350 PS / 257 kW), good enough for a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (289 km/h).

The Carrera S version will benefit from a revised 3.8-liter engine that will produce 395 hp (400 PS / 294 kW), allowing the car to reach 60 mph from start in 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 188 mph (302 km/h).

The new generation of the 911 will have its official debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
