2013 Kia Cee’d goes official

Kia has big plans for the new generation of the cee’d since this model is the company’s best-selling car in Europe. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the all-new cee’d brings interior and exterior updates, more powerful engines and more goodies in the cabin.

The front end of the new generation has an entirely different look, with a different style for the headlights that now feature integrated LED daytime running lights (mandatory in EU), along with a new look for the front bumper that includes fog lights. The hood too has also been modified, while at the back the taillights are way nicer than what the outgoing model has. The rear bumper has been updated as well.

Compared to the model it replaces, the new Kia cee’d is 10 mm lower and 50 mm longer. The body is 10 mm narrower and the track is wider (17 mm front / 32 mm rear). Thanks to these modifications, the car is now more aerodynamic (Cd 0.30) while inside the cabin it offers 21 mm more leg room and 12 mm more head room. In addition, the shoulder room in the back has increased by 5 mm. The cargo room is also up by 40 liters, for a grand total of 380 liters.

Some of the goodies available for the new cee’d include multi-mode trip computer, telescopic steering wheel adjustment, USB/iPod/AUX connectivity along with a bunch of optional features, such as dual-zone climate control, TFT “Supervision” Cluster, a large panoramic glass roof as well as powered adjustments for the driver’s seat.

Safety-wise, the 2013 Kia cee’d comes with six airbags, ABS with BAS, PPAS – Parallel Park Assist System, HAC – Hill Assist control, ESS – Emergency Stop Signal, VSM – Vehicle Stability Management and ESP. Keep in mind that some of these safety features are an optional feature.

In Geneva, Kia also brought the SW version of the cee’d, while the three-door pro cee’d will be launched later on this year.
