We’re baaack! Missed us? As you’ve probably noticed, Auto Unleashed was down for the last month. What happened was that on February 6, the domain name has been hijacked from our registrar and it’s a real pain in the ass getting it back. So, while we’ve waited and hoped to quickly get the domain name back, it seems it will be much harded than we anticipated and it might take months before we’ll see the domain back in our hands. But we didn’t want to hold things down, so we’ve decided to move all the content here, on (pretty lovely name, huh?).

We’re really sorry about all this, but it wasn’t our fault and we didn’t see this coming at all. So, from now, stay tuned to rpmgo to get all the fresh news about the car world.

2008 is coming to an end and we’re getting ready for the vacation (actually, we took our time off a little earlier, as you might have noticed :). This has been an incredible year for us: we attended two major auto show (in Geneva and Paris), we test drove a lot of cars and had a great time reading our readers’ comments. We’d like to thank you for visiting us almost daily, for leaving your feedback on our posts and we hope you have also enjoyed Auto Unleashed and promise you that 2009 will be at least as fun as 2008. With all these being said, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and all the best for these holidays. See you next year!

In all the recent madness we’ve had over here with the Paris Motor Show and stuff, we almost forgot to tell you about our new logo, which has been up since last week. So, what do you think about it, you like it? We don’t mind at all if you drop a comment and tell us your opinion. The logo was created by the guys from BroHouse (the website’s in Romanian, so you might not understand anything :). We really didn’t want anything fancy, just something simple that would identify Auto Unleashed in the future and we really loved the result. Hope you like it too.

Last week, I got the chance to drive the new Fiat 500. I was really excited, because, ever since the car was announced, I’ve been a big fan, especially after I got the chance to see it live at the Geneva Motor Show. So, I got in the car and went driving around to find a nice spot for some cool photos, in the same time checking out how it handles the traffic. I should tell you that the version I had was powered by the 75 hp 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine. The most powerful version is the 100 hp 1.4 liter 16v petrol engine and the other engine available is the 69 hp 1.2 liter. I would’ve loved to have the 100 hp one, I’m sure it’s the most thrilling to drive, but the experience was cool anyways.

First of all, my version is the most expensive in the Fiat 500 offer, 13,800 Euro all taxes included. There are three equipment levels available, Pop, Lounge and Sport. The cheapest Fiat 500 available is the 1.2 Sport, priced at 11,500 Euros, all taxes included and I had the 1.3 Lounge. The Lounge and the Sport versions have the same price, the difference being in the optional features. The Sport, as it name says, offers more sporty looks, while the Lounge takes care especially of the comfort. Read More: “AU Test Drive: The Fiat 500”

Yesterday, I had the chance to drive the new Fiat 500 and I must say it’s quite a cool car. I’ll write a post with all my impressions, next week. Meanwhile, you can check out the photo gallery, here.

Also, next week, we’ll post the Audi A4 review. Though we drove the car back in March, at the Geneva Motor Show, we also wanted to make a video of the A4, but our video editing skills suck, so we decided to publish the review as it is now. We’re sorry it took so long, but we really wanted to make a quality material.

We also want to start a new section. Because some of you, our readers, sent us photos of your rides, we’ll start the “AU Readers’ Cars” section, which will include photos of your cars. So, if you want to share your rides and your thoughts, please drop an e-mail at It would be cool to see what we drive, because, after all, we all love our cars, even if it’s an old piece of junk or a brand new Bugatti Veyron.

It’s been a few days since our last post, and we’d like to apologize for the break, but we had some personal problems over here and couldn’t keep up with all that’s happened in the auto industry. But now we’re back and we’ll try to present you everything we missed in the last days, because there were some really interesting news lately. So, stay tuned!

Happy Birthday to us! Exactly one year ago, on March 18th, 2007, the first post was published on Auto Unleashed and now, one year later, we’d like to thank all our readers and partners which made this year an extraordinary experience for us and hope for you too. We got to meet some very cool people, we made a lot of new friends, we got to the Geneva Motor Show and overall, it was an unbelievable year!

Also, we’ve learned a lot and tried all the time to make the Auto Unleashed experience as interesting as possible for you, our readers. We tried to bring as much new and interesting info as possible, last autumn we brought you the Photo Gallery and now we’re trying to add a lot of cool new features. Last week we’ve created the My Yahoo, NetVibes and iGoogle Homepages Tabs, where you can get the latest new from the best resources available online, including, of course, Auto Unleashed

Besides this, we’ve also started working on two new and very interesting sections on Auto Unleashed. First one is the wallpapers section, where we already started adding wallpapers that will make your desktop a whole lot more attractive. And the second one is the press release section, where we’ll publish all the official press releases made by the most important companies in the auto industry. The sections are new, so there’s not so much content, but we promise that they’ll be updated every day.

So, again, Happy Birthday to us and a big ‘Thanks’ to everyone who, in one way or the other, was part of Auto Unleashed and, for this year to come, we’d just like to tell you that you haven’t seen nothing yet!

Today, the Auto Unleashed team will be leaving for Geneva, where we’ll be attending the 78th edition of the Geneva Motor Show. We probably won’t post as much as usual, but we’ll be coming with a lot of information and photos from the show, because we’ll be there at the press days, on March 4 an 5. Meanwhile, you can check out all our posts about the Geneva Motor Show HERE.

But that’s not all, because we also have some other great news. We’ll be going to Geneva with the new Audi A4, given to us by Audi Romania. So, we’ll also make a complete drive test of the car, as we’ll be going through Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and maybe France and Italy. We’d like to thank Porsche Bucuresti Nord, the Audi dealership which helped us get the A4 and Cohn & Jansen, the advertising agency which handled the campaign Generatia4 (it means Generation A4 and the website is in Romanian).

We took the car yesterday and our first imperssion was great. But, after our European trip we will come up with a complete review of the car. So, wish us luck and don’t forget to keep your eyes on Auto Unleashed, because next week we’ll be posting a lot of cool articles.

Well, that’s about it for this year, because today we’ll be leaving for the holidays vacation, to spend some time with our families. So I guess this would be the last post for 2007. This year has been an outstanding year for us, with Auto Unleashed launched, which had a fantastic evolution as we got to know so many cool and interesting new people. And we hope for you, our readers, the experience was the same. And remember, 2008 will be at least the same, as we’ll be bringing you more news, more photos, more everything about these wonderful things called cars.

With that being said, we want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and we hope that you have a great time with your families and friends. And of course, on all those trips you’re going to make, drive safe! See you next year!

We thought it was time to change the look of Auto Unleashed, so we came up with this new design, which we love and hope you will like it too. If you find anything wrong with the new design, bugs, suggestions or just want to say how much you like it, just drop a comment here.
