Classic Car Auction

In 2010 RM Auctions organized the 2010 Michigan classic car auction at the Tock Financial Showplace in Novi. This RM auction is an annual event which is considered one of the largest indoor classic car auctions in the Midwest. The 2010 edition displayed over 300 collector cars satisfying all the tastes. The auction attracted a large crowd and a lot of bidders interested in buying the rare and incredible classic cars displayed at this event. The total sales of this 2010 Michigan classic car auction exceeded $2.5 millions.

The Michigan classic car auction hosted top-quality classic cars and Detroit muscle cars which were the objects of online and phone bidding, because not only the ones present at the event were able to bid. The event also included a collection of 25 cars from the Walter P. Chrysler Museum that is formed of some rare models manufactured in the Brass Era. The variety of classic cars hosted by this 2010 Michigan classic car auction included a 1941 Ford Super deluxe convertible powered by a V8 engine able to produce 90 horsepower, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe 427, a 1963 AMC Rambler Coupe owned by the Michigan Governor, George Romney and an incredible 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biaritz convertible.

The more recent cars were well represented at this Michigan classic car auction as well. An example is the 1983 Renault Alliance four-door sedan which has only 22 miles on board and the 2003 Dodge Neon SRT 4 equipped with a powerful engine able to produce 215 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. This Dodge is the first SRT car manufactured by Chrysler.

The star of this 2010 Michigan classic car auction was the 1958 Pontiac Parisienne convertible, a rare Canadian-built version of the Pontiac Bonneville. This classic car is finished in pastel Turquoise and White color, has a white power top and is equipped with a 348 Tri-Power V8 engine. It also features an automatic transmission, power steering, a Continental kit, power antenna, radio, dual spot lights and dual exhaust. This rare classic car convinced its new owner to pay $104,500.

The following sale was the one of the 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible which brought to the RM Auctions no more and no less than $82,500. This classic vehicle is equipped with a 390 cubic inch V8 engine with three carburetors and able to produce 345 horsepower. Another exciting bidding was that for the 1991 Ferrari Testarossa, a powerful car equipped with a V12 engine.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum collection had its own star represented by the early 1904 Rambler Model L Tonneau. This outstanding classic car is equipped with an engine able to produce 20 horsepower and has two carburetors, two cylinders and mechanical valves. The original price for this classic car was of $1,350, but at the 2010 Michigan classic car auction this car was sold for $71,500. Another incredible car from this collection which attracted the bidders was the 1904 Overland Runabout sold for $41,250 while the incredible 1918 Nash Quad Truck convinced its new owner to pay $24,200. All the funds obtained by selling the Walter P. Chrysler Museum collections are meant to support the museum’s education programs, the exhibitions and the vehicle preservation.

Other interesting classic cars which heated the spirits during this 2010 Michigan classic car auction were the 1995 Dodge Viper SRT sold for $42,900, the incredible 1935 Ford Model 48 Deluxe Phaeton which brought to the RM $40,700 and the 1940 Chevrolet Custom Coupe which convinced its new owner to spend $41,800.

That’s a great example of successful classic car auction.
