Stop, close your eyes, take a deep breath and then take a look at the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. This engineering marvel is the fastest Lamborghini car ever created.

When you look at it, after the numbness that catches you by simply looking at it and after the mouth slowly closes back up, you will than be able to realize that it follows the same lines as the Lamborghini Renventon and the awesome Sesto Elemento concept. Automobili Lamborghini chose the fastest aircraft to design the fastest Lamborghini yet.

This hypercar has a set of superflue proportions. It has 4.78 meters in length, its 2.26 meters wide and nothing more than 1.13 m in height. These are the results of hundreds of “air tunnel” testing to improve aerodynamics at maximum while reducing friction from all sides. The bodywork contains all the aerodynamic elements starting with the front spoiler, and ending p with the rear diffuser. Even more, the rear spoiler is now deployable and can be controlled electronically. The approach angle has been set to 4 degrees to considerably optimize the directional stability when riding at high speeds, making it reach the “spectrum peak” making it unchangingly easy to handle. The 11 degrees tilt delivers uniformly and perfectly enough downforce in midrange speed with the same purpose of optimizing stability and handling beyond any other sports car.

If you found yourself among the selected few that actually got to sit inside a Reventon, than you must have seen Lamborghini’s attempt to transform the Reventon’s dashboard into a genuine fighter cockpit. The state of the art gadgets and gauges that react with about the same precision as a jet fighter’s instruments, are only a few of the new technologies integrated in the new Aventador. All the information is displayed a large LCD screen, while another one holds control over the stereo, navigation and other multimedia devices. The center console of the car looks incredibly futuristic. It’s like you’re expecting it to start talking too. ABS, electronic brakes distribution, anti-slip controllers, servo-tronic steering that is dependent on speed AND G-force, ESP and drive select are only a few of the cool gadgets integrated in this awesome car.

Now let’s talk real business and see what lies under the hood if this …monster. Lamborghini has said loud and clear that there will be no other engine than a V12 powering up these hypercars. Even more, they have worked around the clock to improve the fabled V12 engine from last year that could be seen on the Murcielago SuperVeloce. The Aventador will come with an improved 6.5 liter V12 engine that will produce a shocking 700 horsepower. This is the first completely redesigned, new and improved engine since the Countach. This will enable the Aventador to launch itself from 0 to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds. Of course if you don’t remove your foot from the acceleration you will be literally blasting off reaching 350km/h. Another element that Lamborghini excels at is power to weight ratio. Since the car is only 1.575 kg heavy, it delivers an unparalleled power to weight ratio of 2.25 kg/hp. Feat that hasn’t been matched by any of the competition. Not even Bugatti managed to achieve this incredible ratio with their heavy bulldozer.

For such a powerful car, Lamborghini is very giving this year pricing it only at $379.700. This explains why more than half of them are already on preorder. If this keeps up Lamborghini might have to extend their production limit over 4000 and no wonder since cars like Lamborghini usually are traded for diamonds.
