It’s been a few days since our last post, and we’d like to apologize for the break, but we had some personal problems over here and couldn’t keep up with all that’s happened in the auto industry. But now we’re back and we’ll try to present you everything we missed in the last days, because there were some really interesting news lately. So, stay tuned!

Happy Birthday to us! Exactly one year ago, on March 18th, 2007, the first post was published on Auto Unleashed and now, one year later, we’d like to thank all our readers and partners which made this year an extraordinary experience for us and hope for you too. We got to meet some very cool people, we made a lot of new friends, we got to the Geneva Motor Show and overall, it was an unbelievable year!

Also, we’ve learned a lot and tried all the time to make the Auto Unleashed experience as interesting as possible for you, our readers. We tried to bring as much new and interesting info as possible, last autumn we brought you the Photo Gallery and now we’re trying to add a lot of cool new features. Last week we’ve created the My Yahoo, NetVibes and iGoogle Homepages Tabs, where you can get the latest new from the best resources available online, including, of course, Auto Unleashed

Besides this, we’ve also started working on two new and very interesting sections on Auto Unleashed. First one is the wallpapers section, where we already started adding wallpapers that will make your desktop a whole lot more attractive. And the second one is the press release section, where we’ll publish all the official press releases made by the most important companies in the auto industry. The sections are new, so there’s not so much content, but we promise that they’ll be updated every day.

So, again, Happy Birthday to us and a big ‘Thanks’ to everyone who, in one way or the other, was part of Auto Unleashed and, for this year to come, we’d just like to tell you that you haven’t seen nothing yet!

Today, the Auto Unleashed team will be leaving for Geneva, where we’ll be attending the 78th edition of the Geneva Motor Show. We probably won’t post as much as usual, but we’ll be coming with a lot of information and photos from the show, because we’ll be there at the press days, on March 4 an 5. Meanwhile, you can check out all our posts about the Geneva Motor Show HERE.

But that’s not all, because we also have some other great news. We’ll be going to Geneva with the new Audi A4, given to us by Audi Romania. So, we’ll also make a complete drive test of the car, as we’ll be going through Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and maybe France and Italy. We’d like to thank Porsche Bucuresti Nord, the Audi dealership which helped us get the A4 and Cohn & Jansen, the advertising agency which handled the campaign Generatia4 (it means Generation A4 and the website is in Romanian).

We took the car yesterday and our first imperssion was great. But, after our European trip we will come up with a complete review of the car. So, wish us luck and don’t forget to keep your eyes on Auto Unleashed, because next week we’ll be posting a lot of cool articles.

As you’ve noticed, in the past few days, we almost didn’t post at all and we’d like to apologize for that. The reason for not posting was that our server decided that it didn’t like us anymore and started making problems. This, combined with the fact that our traffic has gone up, made us decide to move to a new, more powerful server. We’ve already started working on that and we hope that we’ll put everything in order this weekend, so we can get back to our regular posting schedule on Monday. Again, we apologize and hope we’ll make it up to you next week!

To celebrate the 2007 SEMA Show which took place in Las Vegas, Motorola has decided to offer one of our readers the latest Motorola Bluetooth® Hands-Free Speaker T305. We thought about a little and decided the device will go to Gideon, one of our most active readers, who comments under the nickname ‘intensive driving’.

The Motorola T305 provides easy, wireless conversations in the car and, by pressing one button, it activates phone dialling or allows you to answer/end calls. The device provides up to 14 hours of talk time and 14 days in standby mode.

The Motorola T305, together with Motorola’s latest Bluetooth devices for the car were shown at SEMA where visitors could also see live demos of Motorola’s most cutting edge portable and installed automotive accessories, including a “Motorola enhanced” car parked inside the booth.

The winner, Gideon, is from Blackpool, England, he is 42 and he works for The L Factor, teaching people to drive. Here are a few words from him: “We teach people to drive in the sunny coastal town of Blackpool in the UK. I guess what makes us a little different is that we have people come to stay and do all the theory and driving in a week or two, depending on how many lessons they’ve had before.

Some of the people we get are very nervous and some are in a real hurry – neither condition makes it very easy to teach but we do our best and enjoy good results and many happy people when they pass their tests.
I really enjoy the variety of stuff that you post about – I like it that I never quite know what I’ll read about and find out about cars we don’t see in the UK.”

All our respect goes to Gideon, because we sure were some pain in the a*s for our driving instructors, especially with allowing those pedestrians crossing the street

Congratulations, Gideon, keep it up! And thank you for being a loyal reader and helping us make AutoUnleashed a better place for all auto enthusiasts.
