Aside from the price cut, the Ibiza comes with several revisions which should be mentioned, like the reshaped headlights that now have sculptural elements that look like the ones in the Exeo and Alhambra models. For more money customers can opt for bi-xenon headlights with LED DLRs. The car now comes with a smaller front grille, while all of the models in the lineup feature a lower grille which up until now only the hotter FR and Cupra versions came with.

We’ve always liked the simplicity and clean design of the Seat Toledo and it’s nice to find out that the Spanish automaker is preparing the fourth generation of the model. Last week at the Geneva Motor Show they introduced a concept of the Toledo but most likely the production version will be just about the same as the one shown at the event in Switzerland.
Scheduled to go on sale towards the end of this year, the new Toledo adopts a sleek hatchback/sedan design and it will be slotted between the entry-level Ibiza and the more premium Leon. The new model is entirely different than the third generation which was essentially a booted edition of the rather ugly Altea hatchback.
With the new Toledo, Seat is emphasizing on value-for-money and practicality, advertising the new model as a hatchback that offers respectable load-lugging capabilities. Thanks to the larger rear hatch, it enables a considerably easier loading and a folding rear bench. You have more than 500 liters to carry your stuff with the rear seats up.
Measuring 4480mm, this concept is 165mm longer in comparison to the Leon and has a width of 1693mm which is just about the same as the Ibiza has. The wheelbase of the Seat Toledo concept measures 2600mm.
As far as the styling is concerned, we have to say that it looks a little bit like the Skoda MissionL concept that we’ve seen last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It comes with a trapezoidal front grille that has a low and wide design, while the aggressive front headlamp shape is part of the company’s new design language which will see on other cars as well. Accessing the back seats should be easy thanks to the large rear doors, while the attractive shallow angle of the rear windscreen makes the car look more like a coupe.
The production version of the 4th gen Toledo is going to be based on the VW Group’s AO-plus platform which is a more advanced version of the AO-entry platform that VW uses for the cheaper cars like the Volkswagen Vento sold in India. As far as the engines are concerned, these will also be borrowed from the Volkswagen Group. This new model is going to be the sister-model of the upcoming Skoda Rapid which is the production version of 2011’s MissionL we’ve mentioned.
According to various sources within Seat, the fourth generation of the Toledo will have a starting price of 13-14,000 Euros in Spain.

The 2012 Seat Exeo made its debut last year during the Frankfurt Motor Show and now it has arrived in the United Kingdom. This facelift is available for both the sedan and the ST versions of the previous gen Audi A4-based model and can now be ordered in the UK.
The starting price for the entry-level sedan is 19,480 pounds (recommended price on the road) which is offered with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 118 hp (120 PS). All of these engines have been revised and now offer better fuel efficiency and fewer CO2 emissions.
The Spanish automaker has stated that later on this year they will introduce a cleaner and more frugal Ecomotive version of the Exeo which will feature the stop/start technology and will have CO2 emissions of less than 120 g/km.
On the design department, we notice an updated fascia that now has bi-xenon headlights and LED DRLs which are standard for the Sport variants and extra for the SE spec. Aside from this, we should mention the new design for the alloy wheels, revised upholstery options and a new look for the steering wheel.

The fourth generation of the Seat Ibiza came out three years ago and now it’s time for a facelift which will be unveiled to the public in March during the Geneva Motor Show. The Spanish automaker will bring updates to all models in the Ibiza lineup, including here the 3-door SC, the 5-door hatchback and the ST estate model.
The outside of the car will be wearing a new face that was inspired from the company’s recent concept cars like the IBX small crossover, IBE Coupe and the IBL sedan. All of the Ibizas will have a bigger trapezoidal grille which will have a honeycomb structure, while the front bumper will adopt a new look. In addition, the car will feature edgier headlamps, along with optional LED daytime running lights and bi-xenon headlamps. Looking at the back we notice the restyled bumper and new tail lamps.
No photos with the car’s interior were published but Seat promised that the Ibiza will feature better materials, a new steering wheel and a new design of its Climatronic climate control system. Other novelties include three additional colors and the Portable Media System which incorporates a touchscreen monitor that has a navigation system, audio system, on-board computer and a hands-free device.
Clients will be able to choose from several power units, including here a 1.2-liter with 60 hp, a 1.2-liter TSI engine that develops 105 hp, and a beefier 1.4-liter TSI gasoline engine that pumps out 150 hp. More frugal engines include a 1.2-liter TDI that generates 75 hp and a 2.0-liter TDI with 143 hp. Regarding the transmission choices, the new Ibiza will be available with 5- and 6-speed gearboxes as well as Volkswagen’s 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
In the second part of this year we will get to see the hot Cupra version of the Seat Ibiza.

This is the first city car launched by Seat after 2005 when the production of the Arosa ended. It is yet another car based on the VW’s Up! model and it is scheduled to go on sale in Spain the next month, while in the rest of Europe it should be available starting with the next spring. In the last part of 2012, a 5-door variant will be launched and just like the Skoda Citigo model, the Mii will have a base price of less than 8,000 pounds.
Between 1997 and 2005, Seat UK managed to sell only 19,500 Arosas and with the new Mii they hope to improve those figures by offering “value for money”, “best residual values” and “very low insurance ratings.”
Clients will be able to choose from one of the three available trim levels along with two equipment packages. Opting for “Chic” will get you a chrome pack while choosing “Sport” brings a more sport chassis configuration and tinted windows.
As for the engines, at first there will be two 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter units that will produce 59 hp and 74 hp. CO2 emissions for the first one are of 105 g/km while the beefier engine emits 108 g/km. Those who order the optional Ecomotive pack that includes energy recuperation and stop/start will help reduce the CO2 emissions to 97 g/km. Aside from the manual gearbox, the Seat Mii can be fitted to an automated manual gearbox that will use “two electric motors to smooth the gear change.”
A feature that you’ll find mostly on bigger cars will be the City Safety Assist system that uses a laser for detecting cars in front of the vehicle and when driving at speeds of less than 20 mph it will warn the driver of a potential accident and it can also apply the brakes on its own.
Another feature would have to be the Seat Portable System, which is a 5-inch multimedia device that can be used for the navigation, as an on-board computer or as a hands-free, and it is incorporated in the Mii’s audio system. The Spanish automaker is promising bespoke applications for it in the future and also the possibility to update it over the Internet.

Yesterday, Seat who is part of the Volkswagen Group, announced the facelift version of the Exeo model, which as most of you know is based on the last generation of the Audi A4. The facelift is available for both the sedan and the estate (aka ST) versions.
Design-wise, on the outside we notice that it has suffered some mild updates, like the implementation of a honeycomb style grille insert, bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, along with new designs for the 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels. The Spanish automaker said that the Exeo’s engines have received some improvements and CO2 emissions have been reduced by approximately 7 g/km, for the 120 hp and 143 hp TDI sedans that have a manual gearbox and have emissions of less than 130 g/km. In addition, the fuel efficiency has gone up, with the sedan returning 48 mpg (57.6 mpg UK or 4.9 liters / 100 km) on the combined cycle.
Back in 2010, Seat rolled out a bunch of other updates for the Exeo, including reshaped seats for improving the rear passenger room, updated tail lamps with LED, as well as a seven-speed Multitronic gearbox for the Exeo 2.0 TDI CR variant.

Part of the Volkswagen empire, the Spanish automaker Seat is perhaps the weakest link of conglomerate. However, this doesn’t stop them from preparing a hot FR version of the Ibiza ST and the guys from WCF have managed to take a couple of spy shots with the car while undergoing some tests at Nurburgring, the mecca of prototype testing.
The car will come with an updated front bumper, a revised exhaust system and a mesh grille. In addition, it will also feature bigger brakes, a sport-tuned suspension and exclusive 5-spoke alloys.
Just like the Ibiza FR, the ST version will probably be powered by one of the following engines: a 1.4-liter TSI unit that develops 148 hp (150 PS / 110 kW) and 162 lb.-ft (220 Nm) of torque, along with a 2.0-liter TDI engine that generates 141 hp (143 PS / 105 kW) and has a peak torque of 236 lb.-ft (320 Nm).

Along with the new Audi Q3 that will be produced at VW Group’s Martorell factory in Spain, there is another car that will be built there: Seat’s new compact SUV, which will be based on the Q3. According to the British car magazine What Car, the production version of the Seat IBX crossover study will be introduced sometime next year and it will share the same platform as the Audi Q3.
The first SUV concept developed by Seat was the Tribu, which was shown in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. That one was supposed to spawn into a production model but because of the difficult financial times, it was axed.
This time, there are bigger chances that Seat will launch an SUV, despite the fact that the production model will look a lot different from the 3-door IBX concept. Most likely, the production version will feature a 5-door configuration and it will sport conventional combustion power units, as opposed to the full-electric setup of the IBX, which uses an electric motor for powering the front wheels and sports a battery package that allows the car to be driven for up to 28 miles (45 km).
The model which should be out in 2012 will most likely be offered with a wide range of TSI and TDI engines, in both FWD and AWD variants.
