Bentley Continental Supersports Coupe

At the moment, Bentley’s lineup of cars consists of four models, including the Mulsanne, Azure T, Brooklands and the Continental. The latter is available in four different versions, as follows:  GT, GTC, Flying Spur and the Supersports. The automaker’s bosses are working on expanding this lineup and the new models will be underpinned by the soon-to-be-sister brand Porsche’s architecture.

The first future model will most likely be a 4-door coupe variant of the Continental GT that will have to face up some serious competition coming from the exquisite Aston Martin Rapide and the Mercedes CLS. At the same time, it will also take on other models by the VW Group, including the Porsche Panamera and the sexy Audi A7.

Rumors say that Bentley is also working on a crossover which will be based on the Porsche Cayenne. Those same sources say that the automaker will use the Cross Continental badge for that model.

Another possible model will be a smaller coupe that will be placed below the aforementioned Continental GT and will be aimed to grab customers from the Mercedes SL 63 AMG and the Maserati GranTurismo.

These new models should see the light of day sometime in 2015.

Bentley is becoming more and more a tuner favourite brand, after projects based on their cars by Mansory or MTM the Japanese tuning firm ASI decided to tackle the Bentley Continental GTC. After their previous kit made for the Bentley GT Speed, they decided to take their expertise on the luxury convertible and the result is quite amazing.

ASI stand for Accuracy Spirit Imagination, and they really tried to implement those principles in the kit they developed. Carbon fiber is the name of the game in the composition of this kit, being implemented in the lip fitted to the front bumper spoiler, on the lip for the rear bumper and in a discreet boot spoiler. Other modifications made were the LED daytime running lights, side skirts and the 22-inch wheels. But enough talk, check out more photos after the jump. (more…)

After Mansory presented two modified versions of the Bentley Continental GTC, the Flying Spur and the LeMansory, we have another tuning for the luxury cabrio, this time from MTM. I don’t know what’s with this rush to modify this car and I also don’t know what’s the demand for this cars, but one thing’s for sure, they look really cool.

So, what did MTM do to the Bentley? Well, the most important changes were made under the hood, where a modified version of the W12 engine develops 635 hp and has a 750 Nm torque output. A 650 hp upgrade version is also available. With these engine, the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 331 km/h (205 mph). Other modifications include a MTM sports exhaust kit with high-flow catalyst and mufflers, electronically lowered suspension system and 21 inch alloys.

MTM also promised that a 750 hp version of the recently launched GT Speed will be presented in the future. Click ‘Read More’ to see a photo gallery of the Birkin Bentley Continental GTC.

Bentley made a press release this morning in which they announced a minor facelift of the Bentley Continental GT (it got new front bumper and grille, plus an upgraded 6.0 W12 engine). But, more important, Bentley announced the introduction of the Bentley Continental GT Speed inspired by the “Speed” models introduced in 1923. This model has an upgraded engine, developing 600 HP (from the standard 552) and 750 Nm torque (15% more than the standard).

Due to lighter weight connecting rods, new pistons with anodized ring slots and a remapped engine management control unit, the Bentley Continental GT Speed is the first Bentley to go over 200 mph (320 km/h), with a top speed of 202 mph (326 km/h). The GT goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
