European Car Auction – rpmGo.com

In May 2011 will take place an incredible car auction organized by RM Auctions, one of the biggest auction houses in the entire world. This event will be a European car auction because will be located in Villa d’Este in Northern Italy. If we take a closer look at the estimated auction catalogue we can see that it’s possible that the sales will reach the incredible sum of 31.5 million Euro. And I must say that this sum includes only the 32 vehicles closely selected by the RM Auctions.

Each of the cars which will be displayed at this 2011 European car auction is a master pieces being a rare and luxurious classic car. This event will also auction six cars coming from the Bertone factory museum and the audience will be as numerous and as select as the cars which will be hosted by this 2011 RM car auction.

It’s really hard to pick a star of this European car auction, because the variety of the participating classic cars is large and each of them is elegant, luxurious and rare. But, if we take into consideration the estimated prices, then we can say that the 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero and the 1967 Lamborghini Marzal will share the spotlight because of their estimated price which ranges between 1,000,000 and 1,800,000 Euros. But not all the cars are multi-million vehicles. An example which contradicts this statement is the 1978 Lancia Sibilo which is modestly estimated at a price between 60,000 and 100,000 Euros.

When it comes to the Bertone Museum cars these are all European vehicles and not all of them are estimated at multi-million prices. The 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Testudo was estimated at 500,000-800,000 Euros being an unusual price for a GM innovative early 60s compact. Other offers include two incredible classic cars: the 1938 Sixteen Town Car estimated at 100,000-170,000 Euros and the 1930 V16 Convertible Berline thought to be worth between 280,000 and 350,000.

Another vehicle manufactured in the inter-war era, luxurious and elegant, offered to His Highness Yeshwant Rao Holkar II of Indore which nowadays costs 1.5 millions is the 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet A. This car was the subject of a full “nut and bolt rebuild” by RM Auto Restoration and is painted in a dark metallic blue. This outstanding classic car was estimated at a price ranging between 1,250,000 and 1,800,000 Euros.

But the most incredible presence at this 2011 European car auction will be the one of the incredible 1937 Bugatti Type 57 SC Atalante Coupe which impressed the visitors of the 2011 Kuwait Councours d’Elegance. This “sunburst finish” car is estimated at a price between 3,250,000 and 4,250,000 Euros. The 1931 Minerva 8 AL Convertible Sedan, is another amazing vehicle which will be displayed at this European car auction and is estimated at 630,000-840,000 Euros while the 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Springfield Riviera Town Brougham is expected to sell for $700,000 Euros.

The ‘50s and ‘60s era is well represented by the 1965 Ford GT40 prototype Roadster and by the 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada estimated at 380,000-480,000 Euros. Other participants manufactured in that era are the 1964 Alfa Romeo TZ1 estimated at 475,000-575,000 Euros, the 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Berlinetta which will have a starting price of 2,500,000 Euros and the 1955 Ferrari 375 MM Berlinetta estimated at a maximum price of 4.2 millions Euros. I can’t forget about the 1938 Talbot Lago T150 C-SS Teardrop Coupe evaluated at 3.8 millions Euros.

These are not the only surprises of the 2011 European car auction for its audience.
