Some of us might say that the Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe, priced at $600,000 is already an exclusive convertible. But apparently a rich collector doesn’t agree with that, because he asked Pininfarina, the famous Italian coachbuilder, to create an unique version of the Phantom.

The car, which will be named Hyperion (a Titan from the Greek mythology) and, as you can see from the teaser image, will be a really unique car. Pininfarina will create a complete new body for the car, inspired by pre-war Rolls-Royce models with an aerodynamic shape featuring a swept-back windscreen and sculpted flanks and a bespoke cabin. The interior will probably be redesigned as well, but we’re really curious how will Pininfarina beat the already exclusive interior on the production Drophead.

Nothing official so far, but AutoExpress estimates that the project will cost around £1 million (1.4 million Euros or $2 million).

A few weeks ago we’ve presented the Maybach 62 Landaulet concept, which is a new type of ultra-luxury semi-convertible car. And here’s more on this, as Maybach released this video, that shows what has changed in the Landaulet, next to the ‘regular’ Maybach 62. Enjoy!

The Brabus Maybach 57 V12 Biturbo has just became the world’s fastest ultra-luxury sedan, reaching a whopping speed of 205.2 mph (330.6 km/h) on the Nardo track in Italy. The car is powered by Brabus’ 730-hp SV12 S Biturbo engine and broke the record set also by a Brabus car, the Maybach 57 SV12 Biturbo, with 195 mph (314 km/h). This is impressive, especially when you talk about a 3-tons car. The SV12 engine was developed for the Brabus Rocket project, based on the Mercedes CLS, which is by far the world’s fastest sedan, reaching an astonishing 227.2 mph (365.7 km/h) top speed.

The increased engine displacement (from 5.5 to 6.3 liters) was obtained by using a special crankshaft with longer stroke, precision-balanced piston rods, larger pistons to account for the increased cylinder bore, precision-machined cylinder heads and special camshafts. The engine is also fitted with a high-performance turbocharging system with special manifolds, two larger turbochargers, more efficient intercoolers, and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts.

And, of course, being a Brabus, the car has everything a rich ass needs: LED lights integrated into the body that illuminate the ground beside and behind the car, so you don’t slip with your $5000 shoes in potholes or puddles, exclusive custom-tailored interiors, custom-tailored Brabus lambs wool floor mats 15.2-inch flat screens integrated into the back of the front seats or 6-disc DVD changer. So, tell us here, how would you feel going 200 mph in this?

Maybach presented the 62 Landaulet Study, a semi-convertible version of the Maybach 62 saloon. Scheduled to debut at the upcoming Dubai Motor Show (where else?!), it seems a limited production run will be available next year. The concept features a sliding roof over the rear compartment, roof which opens and closes in 16 seconds.

The car also gets a revised interior with a removable glass panel dividing the front and rear quarters, while back passengers now benefit from white leather, piano lacquer and black granite surfaces. The Maybach Landaulet is powered by an upgraded version of the 6.0 liter V12 engine from the Maybach 62 S, which now develops 612 hp (450 kW), thanks to twin turbochargers and water intercooling.

Mercedes wouldn’t be Mercedes if they didn’t prepare something really spectacular for the Frankfurt Motor Show. This time they came up with the Mercedes Benz F700 design study which is an ultra exclusive luxury sedan. The model previews osme of Mercedes’ upcoming technologies, such as the DiesOtto, which is a four-cylinder petrol engine, that develops 238hp and has the consumption levels of a diesel. With this technology, the 5.18 meters concept saloon does an amazing 44.3mpg (5.3L/100km) and just 127g of CO2/km.

Mated to a new hybrid starter/generator system and a seven-speed automatic gearbox, the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.5 seconds. Engineers have also added new active PRE-SCAN suspension, a new system that scours the road ahead using two lasers and automatically adjusts the suspension to suit. Another feature is the new SERVO-HMI (Human Machine Interface), which features a virtual operating assistant that the driver can converse with.

And of course, the Mercedes Benz F700 looks beautiful, having that specific Mercedes elegance. It has distinctive front fenders, flowing side-skirts, recessed door handles, and turbine blade 21 inch wheels. Luminescent strips on the wheel arches emphasize the contours and size of the tires, while a transparent cover over the rear wheels enhances aerodynamic efficiency.

Well, Bugatti didn’t announce any new car so far, but that doesn’t mean their stand is disappointing. Because they introduced the Bugatti Veyron Pur Sange ultra exclusive edition. So what does this Bugatti have that makes it more special then the “regular” ones. Well, the Pur Sang (French for “pure blood”) is finished in its pure material configuration, without being covered in a coating of paint, so carbon and aluminum blend into a unique two-tone color.

Achim Anscheidt, Head of Bugatti Design, explains: “The pure materials used to underscore even more clearly the unified extremes of this car. Power combined with comfort, technical structure and organic bodies, light and dark. A closer look at the details reveals the technical logic behind the stylish appearance. The innovatively designed monocoque carries all main structural components, including the W16 engine, the passenger compartment, the crumple zone and the suspension. It’s precisely this foundation determined by function, made of carbon fiber coated with clear paint, that lies open in view at the heart of the Veyron. The use of aluminum linings is equally forceful. Through the bold and muscular coverings of the wheels as a perfectly designed wing they lend the car its stature and the unique body sculpture. Polished to a mirror finish, these perfectly curved shapes make the fascinating surface reflections visible that characterize the Veyron.”

With the Frankfurt Motor Show almost here, Lamborghini is preparing something special. What we’re talking about is the Lamborghini Reventon(yeah, we know, weird name for a Lambo, but it seems this is how they’ll call it) which was developed starting from the Murcielago LP640 and its design was inspired by jet fighters. And if the Bugatti Veyron, which is its only competitor has a hp-meter, the Reventon has a G-force gauge, which indicates how many Gs your body is taking.

Now the bad news is that the Lamborghini Reventon will cost 1 million Euros. Yes, you read correctly, 1 million Euro. That’s about $1.4 million. But the good news is that you don’t have to worry about not having that money, because all 20 units which will be produced are already sold. More pics after the jump.
